Position Summary
The Manager, Government Affairs plays a strategic role within Empower Pharmacy's Legal Department, supporting public policy initiatives that align with the company's regulatory and operational objectives. This position is responsible for monitoring and responding to state and federal legislative developments, advocating for the organization's interests, and building collaborative relationships with policymakers and regulatory bodies. By fostering innovation, driving cross-functional alignment, and communicating with clarity and influence, the Manager helps Empower advance healthcare access through sound policy engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and executes strategic public policy initiatives that align with Empower's regulatory and business priorities at the state and federal levels.
- Monitors, analyzes, and interprets healthcare legislation and regulations from agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration and National Association of Boards of Pharmacy.
- Builds and sustains strong relationships with legislators, regulatory agencies, and industry associations to support Empower's policy objectives and advocate effectively for the organization.
- Drafts position statements, talking points, and policy communications, and advises leadership on emerging risks and opportunities in the legislative landscape.
- Demonstrates strong collaboration, judgment, and communication in leading cross-functional efforts across Legal, Human Resources, Compliance, and Information Technology to ensure unified policy strategy and execution.

- Minimum of 7 years of experience in public policy, government relations, or healthcare regulatory affairs; pharmacy sector experience is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; a Juris Doctor or Master's degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI in daily work to drive efficiency, solve problems, and enhance decision-making-adept at integrating AI-powered solutions into all workflows.
