The Manager, Health Business Support & Development will play an essential role in the management and analysis of health business services. They will support the development, implementation, and the monitoring of financial performance and operationalization of third-party, managed care contracts, and single-case negotiations. They are responsible for developing and maintaining complex economic models to evaluate financial impact; including the maintaining of dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs. This role involves partnering with leaders at all levels of the organization to define and evaluate strategic growth and optimization initiatives. This role involves managing client engagements and partnering with stakeholders across multiple business areas to ensure successful execution and alignment with strategic objectives.
The Manager, Health Business Support & Development will report to the AVP, Health Business Operations and collaborate with subject matter experts in health finance and population health to enhance medical provider networks performance, manage costs, and ensure high-quality care delivery. They are responsible for developing, negotiating, and managing provider contracts to standardize competitive provider network within key strategic markets across multiple regions. The Manager will facilitate root cause analysis of Health Services pods to identify opportunities for process optimization, cost containment, and/or contract enhancements. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with a multi-disciplinary teams, strong financial analysis, planning, and operational experience, effective communications skills, and experience with operational due diligence.
This role will interface with all brands, medical teams onboard, shoreside health services and leaders as well as external vendors that manage our healthcare systems. Carnival Corporation is comprised of eight brands with approximately 95 ships carrying over 13 million guests annually and employing over 160,000 team members.

This position is classified as "in-office." As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.

- Develops and maintains financial models to evaluate cost impact.
- Analyzes data for cost reduction and service enhancement opportunities.
- Support medical network development in periodic reviews of provider networks.
- Develops pricing strategies and evaluate program viability and optimization.
- Provides data-driven insights for strategic decision-making.
- Generates analyses and reports, simplifying comprehensive research and data into actionable recommendations.
- Monitors and analyzes key performance indicators (KPIs) related to managed care costs and utilization trends."
Project Support:
- Supports critical business projects, including initiatives related to P&I, medical network utilization, and return to work analysis.
- Concisely communicates complex information to multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Guides decision-makers to prioritize projects and programs to plan and control the project portfolio.
- Assesses projects and initiatives based on quantitative and qualitative data and provides recommendations on courses of action.
- Guides decision-makers to prioritize projects and programs to properly plan and control the enterprise project portfolio.
- Manage project life cycle performance by presenting data reports, maintain project database, evaluate project performance, and integrate changes as necessary while ensuring project scope and requirements are maintained.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, KPIs, etc.
- Continuously improve project process and develop reporting procedures that will standardize project process across the organization.
- Evaluate and implement innovative technologies to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and champion innovation.
Medical Network Development:
- Analyzes trends to identify opportunities for medical network development.
- Develops strategies to optimize payer mix, including service growth recommendations.
- Collaborates to improve cost containment within crew and provider case mix base.
- Analyze financial trending and forecasting.
- Work collaboratively with health leadership on new market and new product development initiatives.
Provider Data Management:
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of financial BI dashboard(s).
- Partners with informatics and population health to develop and maintain medical network databases.
- Collaborates closely with internal departments to ensure alignment between managed care strategies and overall organizational goals.
- Oversee analysis of claim trend data and/or market information to derive conclusions to support contract negotiations.
Contract Lifecycle Management:
- Maintains SharePoint/PowerApps of all critical vendor details including MSA, SOW, and other department contracts.
- Analyzes contract performance, identifies areas for improvement, and proactively renegotiates terms to optimize financial outcomes.
- Ensures meticulous compliance with all contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance/Accounting or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare finance, risk/claims management, and/or medical networks. ARM and/or CPCU certification preferred.
- Advanced working knowledge of Power Platform Development, including PowerApps, PowerBI, and Power Automate. ClickUp experience a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, specifically business writing.
- Ability to interact with and adapt communication style to successfully convey messaging and objectives (business storytelling) to all levels of management.
- Exhibits executive presence, intellectual curiosity and analytical thinking.
- Capable of initiating and maintaining solid relationships with all levels of client personnel, as well as utilizing network and industry relationships to identify business development opportunities.
- Capable of working in a demanding, deadline-driven environment independently and within a team dynamic while effectively managing unexpected issues and/or questions in a professional manner.
- Ability to interpret complex health information and data sets to offer insight on business decisions.
- Required to maintain the highly confidential nature of information.
- Excellent project management skills with ability to produce quality work with an attention to detail.
