About The Opportunity

Working as an integral part of the Yustway Health and Wellness Department reporting to the Senior Health Manager, Yustway Health and Wellness, the Manager, Home and Community Care (HCC Manager) is responsible for the management and administration of Squamish Nation's Home and Community Care (HCC) Division, which operates in North/West Vancouver and Squamish Valley. The incumbent ensures the smooth daily operations of the HCC program and the Better at Home program by effectively leading a staff team of approximately 30 health care professionals including Nurse Assessors, Occupational Therapists, Client Care Coordinator, Better at Home Coordinator, Senior Health Care Assistant, Health Care Assistants, Homemakers, and contracted service providers. The HCC Manager ensures the provision of culturally safe and quality home care services, proper implementation of Client Care Plans, exceptional client service standards, and client access to other health care professionals. They work collaboratively with the YHW Director, YHW Management Team, other Departments, and allied health partners to support the best outcome for the clients, the staff, and Squamish Nation as a whole. This senior level administrative position requires a Registered Nurse who has exceptional knowledge and skills in home care client service, management and administration, people leadership, health systems design, policy adherence, information and records management, work planning, budgeting, and financial management. The incumbent must have a strong understanding of British Columbia's regulations associated with Home and Community Care including delegated and assigned tasks, client and staff safety and confidentiality. The individual promotes a culturally safe, supportive, empowering, and therapeutic environment for Nation Members, clients and families, staff, colleagues, and partners. They practice from a place of respect for, and a willingness to learn about, the Squamish worldview that recognizes and honours the values, beliefs and customs of individuals, families, and the community, as well as upholding cultural safety standards and best practices current to the field of home care.

  • Has background knowledge of the health sector to effectively advocate for the organization with service providers, funders, and other partners.
  • Open-minded to continuous learning and alternative perspectives within the workplace and able to ensure safe and culturally appropriate care/perspectives are honored as much as possible.

Salary: $ 100,477 - $ 114,179 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits program
