About the position: Working under the direction of the Director, People, Culture, and Support Services, and as a member of the Human Resources team, the Human Resources Manager (HRM) provides a complete range of proactive and responsive human resource services. The HRM is responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of human resource services to all unionized employees and is a known, supportive, and available resource to the leadership team, employees, and internal and external stakeholders of the Brant County Health Unit.
This HRM role provides specific advice and support in the areas of employee and labour relations, over sees recruitment & selection, benefits & compensation, performance and attendance management, legal compliance, collective agreements, workforce planning, succession planning, organization policies and procedures and other strategic HR initiatives. The HRM is accountable for coordination and/or implementation of departmental projects and activities that support the vision, mission and strategic direction of the Health Unit.

The Human Resources Manager (HRM) provides a full range of HR services to the valued staff and management team of the Brant County Health Unit.
Qualifications:
Salary range: $108,563.00 - $127,036.00 annually. OMERS pension and a comprehensive Health and Dental benefits package.

- Support Managers in addressing complex employee and labour relations issues, including collective agreement interpretation, application of employment legislation & Health Unit policies, conflict resolution, investigations, restructuring, accommodation issues, and other related HR issues.
- The HRM manages the HR staff and provide direction and guidance related to the day to day HR activities.
- Complete investigation reports and make recommendations for resolution/outcomes.
- Work in partnership with Union leadership to address and resolve employee issues under the direction of the Director, People, Culture, and Support Services.
- Develop and implement Human Resource training/education programs and procedures in collaboration with other HR team members to support client needs.
- Provide proactive Human Resource planning and advice within assigned program areas to support client achievement of operational and workforce objectives.
- Support complex absence management, disability and return to work cases in conjunction with Health, Wellness and Safety
- Partner with Leadership and Organizational to design initiatives to enhance team and department functioning and manage change initiatives.
- Lead and/or participate in the execution of various components of the People Strategy to enhance service delivery within the organization.
- Champions the organizational Mission, Vision and Values

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a Business Administration, Human Resources or relevant program, or Human Resources Management certificate, or an equivalent combination of both education and experience.
- CHRP or CHRL designation is preferred.
- Minimum 3-6 years of progressive Human Resources and Labour Relations experience in a unionized environment.
- Significant knowledge of current Human Resources and Labour Relations issues and practices in a unionized environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Office 365, ADP (payroll), HR Downloads
- Knowledge and experience of HRIS (ADP)
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service.
- Strong leadership, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to achieve resolution.
- Strong teamwork ethic; Team player and willing to provide and receive guidance and coaching to other team members;
- Proven ability to work in a self-directed manner and set project and work timelines.
- Demonstrated commitment to championing organizations Mission, Vision, and Values; and
- Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining the same standard.
