Role Summary
The Manager, Human Resources will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing HR initiatives, partnering closely within the HR Business Partner function to align people strategies with business objectives. The Manager, HR role will support workforce planning, employee relations, talent management, coaching, employee engagement, and driving initiatives that enhance workplace culture and performance. Additionally, this role will champion continuous improvement efforts, elevating the HR Business Partner function to meet the company's expanding needs.
This role will partner directly across HR with talent acquisition, total rewards/HR operations, and talent development. The Manager, HR role is an exciting opportunity to support and learn across wide array of business functions including commercial, medical, corporate strategy, patient office, and general administration. Primary Responsibilities
- Work in partnership across the HRBP function to implement HR initiatives that drive business results and align with long-term goals.
- Provide day-to-day support in managing employee relations & supporting people strategy including but not limited to, performance management, talent reviews, and organizational design projects.
- Support the execution of the performance management, Yearly Development Review (YDR), compensation review, & talent review processes, working closely with the HRBP to ensure consistency and alignment with business priorities.
- Assist in material coordination and development for HR presentations, initiatives, and programs
- Partner with talent acquisition in the recruitment process to support validating role approval and continuously connection to provide team insights
- Support people leaders with role development and ensuring all positions have job descriptions on file that appropriately reflect role responsibilities and level
- Help manage employee relations issues, providing support in resolving conflicts and fostering a positive work environment
- Conduct exit interviews and partner across function to analyze offboarding trends
- Partner with Talent Development to develop, implement, and execute ongoing new manager training
- Partner within HR team to communicate people data changes to support accurate records and processes
- Collaborate with leaders and talent development COE to build and help facilitate meaningful and impactful trainings
- Act as a liaison between business units and HR functions, ensuring business needs are communicated and proactively addressed
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement and innovation within the HR function
- Build strong relationships across the HR function, including Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, & HR Operations to ensure effective delivery of HR initiatives
- Support HRBP function in utilizing HR data and metrics to identify areas for improvement, drive accountability, and track progress on key HR initiatives
Education and Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, including HR Business Partner or generalist roles
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related degree
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industry is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to support HR strategies and provide hands-on assistance in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
- Comfortable facilitating group discussions, brainstorming, and trainings
- Self-starter with a strong willingness to learn and take initiative in both day-to-day responsibilities and larger strategic projects.
- Solid understanding of HR processes, including talent management, employee relations, and compensation.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Travel and Location
- Boston-area onsite, 2-3 days in the office
- Travel ~15% of the time for meetings/workshops with field teams, external conferences, and internal meetings/off-sites
