Washington Corporation IT department is seeking a Manager, Infrastructure who will be responsible for Washington Companies based infrastructure operations, modernization, process optimization, and mentoring of technology professionals in support of Washington Companies private data centers and public cloud infrastructures. This position reports to the Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure and manages the infrastructure team. Reporting directly to this role are the infrastructure team individual contributors. The Manager of IT Infrastructure is responsible for day-to-day management of datacenters, systems, backup and replication strategies, networks and desktop computer environments. Managing the Infrastructure team, this position oversees the procedures related to the identification, prioritization, and resolution of requests and incidents. Including the monitoring, tracking, and coordination of systems, network and desktop functions.

The Manager, Infrastructure manages technology infrastructure projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. Complexity in the role comes from the diverse amount of technical knowledge required to manage datacenters and execute infrastructure projects. Initiative and creativity are required when determining the best way to resolve technical, production and personnel issues. Significant errors or misjudgments may result in loss of company data, company-wide system outages, and in being over-budget or late on projects. In addition, this role often has access to company information that is confidential and sensitive in nature and therefore requires a high level of confidentiality and ethics.

Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.

What you'll do
  • Lead and manage the IT Infrastructure Team. Includes systems, desktop and network teams.
  • Planning, resourcing, and execution of infrastructure projects.
  • Oversight of internal and external relationships needed to keep IT infrastructure functions operating smoothly on-time, on budget and in a coordinated way with other internal stakeholders involved in department planning and management.
  • Clearly communicate tasks, projects, goals and issues to all business customers and IT leadership team.
  • Maintain and create supporting documentation as needed.
  • Manage service providers/vendors as needed within IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure services levels are met.
  • Research chronic technical issue and develop go-forward planning for continued support.
  • Function as a Subject Matter Expert on IT Infrastructure Services and Technology on a wide variety of projects, issues, and strategies.
  • Provide hands on support leadership to the group on a wide variety of day-to-day needs.
  • Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software, maintaining compliance where appropriate.


What you'll bring
  • 10+ years of experience working in IT operations, support and management.
  • Client-focused individual with strong communication and attention to details.
  • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices.
  • Must be able to lead a group of system, desktop and network administrators.
  • Excellent working knowledge in vendor management of IT shared services for the following areas: systems administration, network services, data storage systems, M365, desktop, etc.
  • Experience leading and managing IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies.
  • Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize.
    Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment.

The estimated salary for this position is $140,000 - $150,000. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate's skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
