We seek a highly skilled and experienced Manager - Investment Advisory to join our team at Aspiriant, a leading independent wealth management firm. This role involves building and maintaining client relationships with ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices, corporate executives, business owners, endowments, and foundations. The ideal candidate will have a substantial investment advisory services and wealth planning background, excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

How you will contribute:
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective clients, including ultra-high-net-worth individuals and family offices.
  • Investment Strategy Development: Identify client goals, objectives, and risk tolerance to develop and implement comprehensive wealth plans.
  • Market and Economic Analysis: Stay informed about economic, market, and tax legislation to advise clients effectively.
  • Client Service Team Leadership: Manage day-to-day client engagements and coordinate with other departments to enhance client relationships.
  • Risk Management: Conduct high-level reviews of clients' risk management posture and oversee the development of insurance programs (life, property and casualty, health, long-term care, and disability), working with third-party vendors.
  • Communication and Coordination: Prepare meeting materials, draft summary emails, and manage follow-up tasks with internal and external resources.
  • Investment Analysis and Recommendations: Conduct asset allocation analyses, develop investment policy statements, and recommend investment portfolios aligned with client objectives.
  • Business Development: Participate in business development efforts and build referral networks.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the preparation of meeting materials and assist in the training and development of junior team members.
  • Financial Planning: Develop customized client cash flow/spending analyses and prepare statements of net worth, cash flow, and long-term capital sufficiency analyses.

Knowledge:
  • In-depth knowledge of various investment solutions (separate accounts, mutual funds, ETFs, alternative investments).

Skills:
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and Salesforce.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.


Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate complex investment issues effectively.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and manage a heavy workload.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Experience and Education:

We will consider any combination of experience and education which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job. A typical way to acquire the requirements would be:
  • A bachelor's degree in business or finance is required; an MBA, CPA, CFP, CFA, and/or CIMA is preferred.
  • Minimum four years of experience in an investment advisory role.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Primarily sedentary work in an office with minimal distractions; walking throughout the office. Learn and memorize tasks; execute tasks independently; apply knowledge and use judgment to manage situations. Occasionally exert up to ten pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Perform repetitive motions; substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers for computer keyboard operation. Use near visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing documents, operating a computer, and reading. Speak and hear to communicate with team members and clients by phone and in-person.
