Description:
Manager (Investment Operations) | Charlotte (Hybrid) | $95-130k (depending on exp/certifications) + 25-50% bonus
Player/Coach will provide daily management/leadership of Retail/Intermediary Operations Team for established investment management firm.
Responsibilities:
Attract/engage/retain diverse, high performing workforce; train staff; conduct performance reviews
Instill positive cross-team collaboration/execution
Assess team's strengths/weaknesses and drive improvement via skill development, staff accountability, conflict resolution, managing to deadlines
Improve client experience via consistent work quality/accuracy and meeting requests/deadlines quickly
Execute on key objectives set forth by CAO: improved accuracy/speed/customer service/productivity
Streamline/document processes to increase efficiency/mitigate risk
Related to recent merger, support transition to Archer (aligning firm operations with Archer) and integration of relevant investment teams/accounts
Serve as "Face of Operations" internally/externally; create open lines of communication/engagement across multiple departments external/internal clients
Assist/contribute as needed with IT around Enterprise Data/Data Warehousing initiatives and hand-offs/transitions from Operations to IT
Ensure transaction/position integrity in records (Advent APX/Archer) against client custodial records; research/remediate reconciliation discrepancies daily; prepare/distribute all month-end accounting/performance statements
Manage operational aspects of new account onboarding (account attribute set up in portfolio accounting system, custodian data feed connectivity, and funding status verification)
Provide internal "customer" support
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience in operations management; advanced degree a plus
CFA and/or CIPM preferred
Strong domain expertise; prior experience managing investment operations (in-house or outsourced), ability to add add value as both a manager and individual contributor
Extensive knowledge of fixed income, equities, and other investment securities types; working knowledge of and familiarity with Advent APX, Archer, Omgeo, Charles River, Bloomberg, FactSet, Salesforce or related software/investment operations platforms
Ability to adjust to fluctuating work hours
