Position Summary:

The Logistics Manager is responsible for the most effective planning and management of SignResource logistics to ensure timely shipping, deliveries, reduce freight costs, and increase customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Responsible for staffing, scheduling, and managing the logistics teams in CA and TN.
  • Develop innovative programs to continuously improve cost, quality, and service.
  • Identify and develop working relationships with third party carriers to secure full truckload or LTL coverage of freight.
  • Work with SignResource resources and customers to ensure success in meeting customer shipping needs.
  • Manage, develop, document, and implement standardized logistic processes to minimize freight damage and warranties.
  • Represent an understanding of current market conditions and business needs to effectively negotiate competitive rates with carriers.
  • Prioritize work based on customer and operational needs.
  • Responsible for tracking and tracing loads enroute, schedule for pick-up, and delivery status.
  • Handle complaints concerning billing and delivery status and refer complaints of service failures to designated provider for investigation.
  • Coordinate the designated carrier-to-customer pick-up with time of pick-up, delivery, and special instructions as directed by the customer.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with customers by responding to & filtering inquiries and complaints concerning receipts, invoices, shipments, inventory counts, etc., in a courteous and efficient manner either by phone or email.
  • Work with freight carriers to drive cost savings for the business while increasing SignResource service performance with the customer.
  • Continually seek ways to improve transportation service to customers.

Minimum Qualifications / Skills:

    • At least 5 years of logistics management experience
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Customer support experience
    • Logical thinking ability
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to perform duties with limited supervision
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability and desire to work in a team environment
    • Manufacturing experience a plus
