Accountable and responsible to the Operations Department for the performance and leadership of the Planning/Scheduling & Customer Service function. Responsible for the development of quarterly master production schedules, rough-cut capacity planning, and customer service order management for multiple plants. As a key customer interface, assures service to customers from receipt of purchase orders to on-time delivery of products. Coordinates with Operations to generate production plans aligned with capacity and inventory targets to ensure best-in-class service levels. Key contributor in the business unit's Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. Leads a team of material planners and customer service representatives. Fosters an environment of accountability, bias for action, and systems thinking in alignment with Silfex's core values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accountable for developing and maintaining operations manufacturing plans (master schedule) and scheduling the release of work orders to meet customer demand (production control).
- Responsible for developing manufacturing plans balanced within capacity capabilities to ensure viable production schedules.
- Collaborates with Plant Operations Managers and Value Stream Managers to determine the Work in Process (WIP) levels for the Business Unit.
- Determines production priorities in conjunction with Value Stream Managers and Plant Operations Managers. Expedites operations to avoid delays to the schedule and re-prioritizes schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Accountable to establish and maintain appropriate stocking levels based on data analysis of forecasts, historical trends and specific customer feedback necessary to provide expected levels of customer service.
- Develop inventory projections (including subcontract locations) and resize Kanban levels based on current demand and supply plans.
- Responsible for the accuracy of assigned ERP parameters.
- Support requirements planning with key subcontractors, including sharing requirements and problem solving as necessary to meet quality and schedule.
- Maintains ODBC database pulls to query and verify end production and other reports as needed
- Processes/approves customer orders by recording customer information and distributing requirements to appropriate functional areas.
- Maintains customer master data records.
- Resolves customer complaints (product and/or service) by coordinating discovery of the cause(s) and best solution to solve the problem(s); provides timely information to customers concerning corrective action plans; expedites correction and/or adjustment for the customer and follows up to ensure satisfaction.
- Updates customer portals to reflect delivery commits and the status of orders.
- Develops and executes continuous improvement plans for scheduling, delivery, and inventory.
- Recruits, hires, trains staff, evaluates employee performance, and recommends or initiates promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
- Adheres to, develops, or revises standard operational and working practices (standard work) and coaches team members to ensure compliance with standards.
- Coaches and mentors employees on key lean concepts, observation methods, and the continuous improvement process.
- Review levels of all finished goods and raw materials inventories and resolves inventory issues on a weekly basis.
- Responsible for the accuracy of the shipping schedule.
- Fosters an attitude and environment of continuous improvement to reduce costs and improve quality.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain/Operations Management, or related field or equivalent experience.
- 4-6 year's supervisory experience.
- Six Sigma or Lean experience preferred.
- Clear success in the delivery of planning capabilities, ideally in a complex, high volume, high variability environment across multiple plants.
- Use of ERP and forecasting systems. Plex experience preferred.
- APICS CPIM or CPM certifications preferred.
- Can apply knowledge of inventory models and statistics.
- Can manage large datasets in excel, access, or other tools.
- Mathematical and basic statistical knowledge.
- Basic report design and formatting skills.
- Good working knowledge of core operations processes, including detailed scheduling and materials management.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access).
- Experience writing and maintaining SQL queries preferred
- Understand the entire S&OP process, including Demand Planning and Supply Planning.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as, customer specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Ability to handle customer and internal situations, which are sometimes stressful or time critical in a logical manner and resolve issues resourcefully and tactfully.
