A Snapshot of Your Day Join our dynamic team in Charlotte, where as a Manager of Metallurgy you will lead a group of skilled metallurgists dedicated to providing Metallurgical Engineering Support for large turbine generators in the power utility market. Imagine being at the forefront of innovation, where you will spend 50% of your time as a technical contributor, tackling challenges in material analysis and failure investigations, while the other 50% will see you managing and organizing the workflow of your team to ensure high-quality support within budget. You will collaborate with materials engineers, gaining expertise in the design and manufacturing processes that drive our global operations. Your leadership will be pivotal in optimizing our metallurgical strategies and supporting the lifecycle of metallic materials used in our turbine-generator products. How You'll Make an Impact

- Lead the Metallurgy Team in providing technical support for large turbine generators, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and expertise of the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate metallurgical support for generator products.
- Conduct failure analyses and root cause investigations to drive corrective actions and improvements.
- Represent Siemens Energy in technical discussions with customers and suppliers, ensuring alignment with international standards.
- A Bachelor's or master's degree in Materials Engineering with a focus on metallurgy, along with 10 or more years of relevant experience. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.
- Strong expertise in physical metallurgy, including analysis of structural and stainless steels, large forgings, and non-destructive testing.
- Strong expertise in Fractography and analyzing micro-structures of metals.
- Proven leadership experience with intercultural teams and a passion for continuous improvement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong data analysis capabilities.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time to support project needs.
