Actuarial Department
InnovaCare's Actuarial Department serves a pivotal role in the Company's leadership, fulfilling core actuarial functions and providing key strategic decision-making support. Department leadership is focused on training future leaders, placing heavy emphasis on technical knowledge and strong communication, actuarial modeling and strategic thinking, individual contributions and teamwork, both within the Department and across the Company at large. While InnovaCare actuaries each spend time focusing on specific core disciplines, a dynamic fast-paced environment coupled with a regular rotation will ultimately expose actuaries to many key functions within the Company.

Manager, Actuarial Services
Core Responsibilities
Work closely with the Actuarial Director, within all aspects of the forecasting, monitoring, and reporting for the companies Medicare Advantage and Medicaid lines of business
Serve as a primary Actuarial point of contact within the various lines of business working closely with Finance, Medical Management, Operations, and other departments as needed
Support annual budget process and monthly forecast refresh process
Support monthly reserve setting process
Manage various aspects of the company Surplus Share agreements
Perform variance analyses versus budget and prior periods
Help support quarterly audits
Build and/or optimize efficient and robust analytical models and processes, based on the needs of the business
Deliver actuarial communications including results of requested analyzes
Perform database queries using Microsoft Access, SQL, or SAS
Ensure data validation and reconciliation
Perform other regular and ad-hoc analyses at the direction of Senior Actuarial Management
Manage 2-4 actuarial resources

Requirements
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree
6+ years of experience actuarial experience
3+ years of experience with healthcare plan reporting
Fellowship or Associate of the Society of Actuaries (SOA)
Mastery of Microsoft Excel
Must be authorized to work in the United States and have permission from the government to earn an income by working in the United States
Periodic travel to various markets (10%-25%)
A self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with a demonstrated ability to lead projects, work well independently, and work well in teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent time management skills
Previous experience leading people and/or projects
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively with technical and non-technical audiences

Desirable Qualifications (not requirements)
Knowledge of SAS and SQL; background in one or more computer programming languages preferred
Experience with Medicare Advantage
Exposure to Microsoft Access, PowerPoint
