Salad and Go is seeking an Engineering and Maintenance Manager to oversee all engineering maintenance work at the Manufacturing facility. This position will lead a team of maintenance technicians in the day-to-day activities, will drive improvements in how maintenance engineering is performed at the site, and proactively manage the preventative maintenance program. He/she will coordinate closely with key leadership at the site to ensure priorities are understood and the team performs at a high standard to minimize downtime, drive productivity and ensure a high standard of Safety and Quality. He/she will plan, coordinate, assign and manage the work of others. He/she will work under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment.

The Engineer and Maintenance Manager has the following primary responsibilities:
- Manages the Maintenance department, ensuring appropriate resources, skill sets, training and performance management for team members.
- Ensures team members execute work in compliance with required regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and FDA standards.
- Manages the Preventative Maintenance program, including the purchase and inventory management of spare parts.
- Drives improvement projects in Maintenance, including PMs, 5S program, equipment reliability, and safety management.
- Oversees the development of department guidelines, procedures, policies, rules and regulations pertaining to maintenance and facilities management.
- Observe safety and security procedures; determine appropriate actions beyond guidelines; report potentially unsafe conditions; ensure proper use of equipment and materials.
- Request, review, and submit work orders, bids, and proposals from vendors.
- Coordinate with outside contractors for the service and repairs of equipment.
- Coordinates with contractors to execute on facilities work for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.
- Supports a strong culture of safety and notifies management immediately of any unsafe working conditions.
- Address inquiries and concerns ensuring timely and quality resolutions are communicated.
- Report on open and closed work orders and check the status of open work orders with the assigned party.
- Maintain cleanliness in compliance with quality control procedures, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations to ensure the highest standards of food safety.
- Properly wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gloves, hairnets, face masks, and other safety gear, as mandated by OSHA and Company policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of progressively responsible work-related experience in a Food Manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of Food Safety Principles, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), and federal regulations established by the EPA, OSHA, FDA.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong people management and servant leadership skills.
- Problem solving capabilities to produce solutions to complex situations.
- Perform many job duties in refrigerated conditions (35-40F) for extended periods.
- Follow all safety guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and OSHA regulations.
- Safely lift, carry, push, and move up to 50 pounds.
- Remain on feet for the majority of the shift while performing repetitive motions, including reaching, bending, and twisting, as required.
