JOB SUMMARY
This is a key role responsible for overseeing and driving the performance of the Inside Sales team.
Work to ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of the Inside Sales Team. Serve as manager, coach, and mentor for the team in achieving established company sales goals and objectives and exceeding customer expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Create a professional team environment among the Inside Sales staff.
Optimize the daily operations of the inside sales team to convert opportunities into sales thereby meeting or exceeding company revenue target.
Ensure the ISR team is completing the requirements of their job:
Meet or exceed sales targets by nurturing and growing existing business year over year.
Ensure customer service levels are met - response times for RFQs, quote follow up, RMAs, etc.
Proactive outbound outreach (calls and emails).
Establish quarterly and annual team and individual goals that are in alignment with overall company goals and objectives and update regularly.
Actively engage and stay current with compliance, quality, and purchasing.
Embrace the spirit of ISO 9001 & ASO9120 certification and manage Inside Sales to follow procedures and work instructions outlined in the Olander Quality Management System (QMS).
Ensure customer driven compliance requirements are met by the team before, during and after the sales cycle as recommended by management and the Olander compliance team. Hold team accountable.
Design a method of handling RFQ inquiries so that they are responded to in a timely manner resulting in compelling, quality quotes.
Manage the team to track the follow-up of outstanding quotes to ensure customers are being handled appropriately.
Serve as the first point of escalation and support in navigating any issues with customer sales orders or customer complaints over the phone and through email, as well as in person.
Manage the team to monitor and respond to any customer complaints (per our QMS) in a timely manner.
Communicate sales targets and performance metrics to the sales team regularly to keep them informed.
Provide oversight for department RMAs to include approval and sign-off, training needs, and create/modify procedures as needed.
Provide the following to the ISR team:
Implement and track a daily inside sales team schedule for lunches and breaks, schedule coverage for staff outages due to time off requests and illness, evaluate and modify coverage for any staffing shortages. Manage staff's overtime needs/requirements.
Accurate Timesheet/Time Off approval
Communicate updates regarding process and procedures to the sales team.
Compose quarterly assessments to include identification of strengths and areas for improvement for individual team members and tailor coaching accordingly.
Determine quarterly goals for each team member
Training and Development as needed and required.
Process quotes, orders, or RMAs as volume or staffing levels require to ensure we are meeting the expected response times.
Act as a communication liaison between Sales and Purchasing, Outside Sales and Warehouse.
Manage the ISRs to support or back-up the Counter Sales department as needed.
Collaborate with marketing and other teams to ensure effective conversion strategies.
Maintain adequate stock of all sales literature/vendor catalogs.
Work with HR to develop training curriculum for our ISR team to enhance product knowledge, applications understanding and soft skills in regular intervals including customer service, product knowledge, P21, sales strategies.
Recruit, hire, and train sales staff including ongoing coaching to develop sales skills, customers service skills, product knowledge, and technical expertise.
Provide onboarding support to new sales staff members by ensuring they have appropriate training materials, access to resources and various databases, direct on the job training.
Review all orders entered by new staff members or as needed in supporting existing staff.
Track lost sales information & recommend ways to convert more opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years managing an inside sales team.
5+ years' experience in a technical sales environment demonstrating successful inside sales techniques, field sales support, detailed communication, superior customer service and leadership skills.
5+ years' experience of fastener knowledge either through direct sales or in a manufacturing environment.
Distribution experience, hard goods preferred, fastener or industrial experience required.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills including experience with CRM maintenance, Quoting, and Order Management. Basic to Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Education: 2 or 4-year degree from an accredited college preferred or applicable work experience.
Proficiency in writing clear and concise communications internally and externally required.
Ability to work and to interact with customers and employees while demonstrating tact, sensitivity, discretion, and professionalism.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; spend long periods of time on a computer,.
The employee is regularly required to stand; walk.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
Base pay range: $95,000 - $110,000 DOE
This position is also eligible for our bonus plan.
