ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director of Intensive Services, the Manager of Live-in Treatment is responsible for providing a safe and therapeutic environment for all children in the Live-in Treatment program, this includes overseeing the full daily operation and upholding Ministry Residential Licensing Standards. This role is vital in implementing client treatment plans, overseeing client admissions and discharges, providing regular training to front-line staff and working with service providers and family members/caregivers in various stages of the treatment program. The Manager of Live-in Treatment provides staff with support and coaching, ensuring assessments and interventions are linked to comprehensive treatment plans as prescribed by legislation and industry best practice, including working closely with child welfare and Ministry representatives focusing on standards of care, licensing requirements and bed utilization within the region.
Employment Status: Permanent Full-Time
Salary Range: $86,645 to $91,922
Location: 402 Bloomington Road, this position will require travel within York Region.
Hours of Work: Thirty-five (35) hours per week, including evenings, weekends and overnight on-call work.

A LOOK AT YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure service delivery in live-in treatment complies with legislative and accreditation standards, including the Quality Standard Framework, Child, Youth and Family Services Act, Committee Consultation Assessment Services, and Ministry Residential Licensing Standards.
- Oversee the daily functioning of two programs, one 7-bed live-in treatment program and one 3-bed live-in treatment program for children and youth ages 6-18, including program structures and routines, treatment planning of clients, supervision of staff, and maintenance of building and operational needs.
- Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss administrative, clinical and learning concerns that impact the team and/or clients, including assisting staff in problem-solving and providing knowledge-based sharing of industry best practices.
- Manage and address scheduling gaps, productivity and workload expectations, including providing timely review of reports and ensuring reporting timelines are followed.
- Support the Director of Intensive Services in developing, implementing and maintaining program procedures and guidelines that meet the highest standards of practice.
- Work collaboratively with child welfare partners and other referral sources to ensure clear communication, collaboration, and integrated planning around children and youth.
- Work closely with Program Coordinators and Clinical Manager(s) to ensure program assessment processes are followed to determine the eligibility for intensive programs and services in a timely manner, utilizing a client-focused and solution-focused approach to minimize vacancies and length of stay.
- Attend all Residential Centralized Intake meetings, review all program referrals, and maintains oversight of the waitlist for live-in treatment.
- In collaboration with the Manager of Clinical Services, provide clinical leadership support through maintaining knowledge of industry best practices and models for live-in treatment care that effectively meet the needs of clients.
- Work closely with Managers from other programs to ensure collaboration between staff, effective planning for shared clients, and coordinated services between programs.
- Actively participate in treatment planning for clients and families requiring management input and consultation for decision-making purposes.
- Support the Director of Intensive Services in addressing all requests for records, verification of services and support letters.
- Implement quality assurance and evaluation processes that involve monitoring, collection, recording of clinical and service data, including submitting data in a timely manner and in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
- Ensure the completion of program orientation and training in accordance with licensing requirements, internal policies and procedures.
- Ensure staff receive adequate supervision in approved treatment models to maintain fidelity and up-to-date certification and credentials (e.g. Zones of Regulation).
- Maintain training and development plans for program staff based on agency clinical constructs and approved models (e.g. including Medication administration, CPR-First Aid, etc.).
- Work in consultation with the Director of Corporate Services to ensure expenses remain within budgetary limits.
- Attend and participate in required training and meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree in a related discipline such as Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Social Services, Human Services and/or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience working with children and youth in a live-in treatment program.
- Minimum three (3) years of staff supervisory experience.
- Foundational knowledge of quality assurance principles.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including editing skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of child and youth mental health programs, child welfare, education systems and relevant legislation and regulations.
- Effective prioritization of people management, crisis management and solution-based problem-solving abilities.
- A willingness to work flexible hours which include evenings, weekends and overnight on-call work.
- Ability to effectively build trust, rapport and foster collaboration with colleagues, ministry representatives and community professionals.
- Experience in policy development, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and risk management best practice.
- Competence in modelling professionalism and maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
- Demonstrate versatility in the ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve program goals.
- Possess skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Functional technological skills (e.g., Office 360, MS Office, SharePoint, software applications).
- Awareness and appreciation for the dynamics of equity issues (diversity, equity and inclusion) especially as it relates to gender, ethnicity, race, and economic status.

NICE TO HAVES:
- Applicants with fluency in another language are encouraged to apply.
- Fluency in American Sign Language.
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Trainer Certificate.
- Mental Health First Aid certificate.
ON-BOARDING REQUIREMENTS:
- Police Broad Record Check (within the last 180 days).
- First Aid Certification (CPR/AED Level C).
- Valid Ontario Driver's License and access to a reliable motor vehicle.
- Completion of a Driver's Abstract.
- Proof of automobile insurance.
