MANAGER OF LOGISTICS
JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager of Logistics is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the movement, storage, and distribution of goods within the supply chain. This role ensures that products are delivered on time, in the right quantities, and at optimal costs, while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, direct, and oversee daily logistics operations, including inbound and outbound transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
- Monitor and improve the efficiency of transportation and storage processes to reduce costs and enhance performance.
- Ensure on-time delivery of goods to meet customer and production requirements.
- Negotiate contracts with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to secure favorable terms.
- Evaluate and monitor carrier performance, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Develop strong relationships with logistics service providers to ensure reliable operations.
- Work closely with inventory management and procurement teams to ensure seamless material flow throughout the supply chain.
- Optimize routes and distribution strategies to balance cost efficiency with timely delivery.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure alignment of logistics schedules with manufacturing needs.
- Build and lead a team of logistics professionals, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the logistics team.
- Set and track team objectives and performance metrics.
- Ensure all logistics activities comply with local, national, and international regulations.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
- Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the logistics network.
- Leverage logistics management software (e.g., TMS, WMS) to enhance operational visibility and reporting.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs, improve delivery performance, and increase operational efficiency.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation in logistics practices.
- All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, or a related field
- Experience: 5+ years' experience in Automotive Manufacturing or related field. 2+ years' experience and demonstrated success as a knowledgeable supply chain manager in an Automotive Manufacturing, Assembly or Distribution facility
- Customs Certification preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required

- Significant experience in logistics management, with a track record of overseeing transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities.
- Proficiency in logistics software and tools (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP systems).
- Familiarity with international logistics, customs regulations, and trade compliance is preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills for vendor and stakeholder management.
- Analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Proactive approach to identifying and solving supply chain challenges.
