Job Summary: Manages, supervises and coordinates the operations the Medical/Surgical Department by performing the needed duties. Successful candidate will select, schedule and assign staff, adjusting hours and shifts as necessary. Performs staff nurse duties 50% of assigned work week. Arranges/Orients new staff and coordinates activities to ensure patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service connected to Simply the Best Standards.
Job Qualifications: Must be an RN with the state of Kansas. BSN preferred. Must have CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications or be willing to obtain. Candidate must have Medical/Surgical experience with good technical skills. Successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills. This position requires basic computer literacy within a Windows environment, including word processing functions, use of the internet, and computer-based education. Keyboarding ability required. Experience using CPSI documentation software will be an asset, to include nursing assessments, electronic MAR with bedside barcode scanning, and Computerized Physician Order Entry. Successful candidates should be ready to use information technology in a meaningful way, in order to improve patient outcomes and ensure patient safety.
