JOB SUMMARY
The Manager of Operations will be responsible for overseeing the day to day activities of the following departments: Quality, Compliance, Purchasing, Warehouse. This person will report to the CEO and be part of the Leadership Team. The Manager of Operations will work closely with other departments to align operations with company goals and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate must thrive in a dynamic, small-company environment, taking a proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving and leadership. They must be willing and able to perform a variety of different tasks required in a small company environment (a "do whatever it takes" attitude).

SALARY RANGE
Annual Base Pay: $125,000 to $150,000 depending on experience. Olander complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and determines compensation based on candidate's qualifications, education, skill set, experience, and internal equity.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
As a Manager and Leader of the Company, this individual is expected to:
- Develop and implement short- and long-term operational strategies in collaboration with the Leadership Team.
- Serve as a liaison between management and staff, ensuring clear communication and alignment on company policies and initiatives.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration to streamline operations and resolve challenges effectively.
- Recruit, train, and develop team members, conducting regular performance reviews and coaching sessions. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
- Establish clear, measurable goals for direct reports and their teams, driving motivation and accountability.
- Lead change management efforts to drive process improvements while minimizing disruption.
- Oversee workload distribution across departments, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to deadlines.
Quality
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 quality standards, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain and update the Quality Management System (QMS) in CORE software, including the Olander Quality Manual.
- Address customer quality concerns by managing corrective action processes (CAR, SCAR programs) and evaluating customer complaints.
- Support the Sales Team by providing expertise on quality-related customer discussions.
- Represent Olander on customer audits and institute corrective action and follow up when required.
- Manage the company's ISO 9001 and AS9100 certification processes.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), presenting updates to leadership as needed. Present this information company-wide when asked by the CEO.
- Conduct MRM as dictated by QMS.
Compliance
- Lead a team of compliance professionals, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Stay up to date on industry regulations and provide necessary training for staff.
- Partner with Sales to clarify and address customer compliance concerns while supporting revenue growth.
- Develop and implement compliance procedures and protocols to mitigate risks and potential violations.
- Conduct internal audits and compliance assessments, proactively addressing potential risks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline compliance processes.
- Implement an escalation framework to monitor and address compliance-related risks proactively and communicate concerns with management.
Purchasing
- Oversee the purchasing department and Purchasing Manager to ensure that day to day operations meet Olander standards.
- Develop strategic supplier partnerships to optimize costs and procurement processes.
- Continuously assess purchasing strategies to enhance supply chain effectiveness.
Warehouse
- Oversee the Warehouse Manager to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Support and work with the Warehouse Manager on ISO quality management standards.
- Oversee supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory expectations. Implement corrective actions when required.
- Train the Warehouse Manager as a backup on Olander QMS (& ISO).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- 5-7 years' experience in operations management, supply chain, or manufacturing, preferably in the fastener industry.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to drive results
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to build relationships cross-functionally and develop high performing teams.
- Growth mindset, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges.
- High level understanding of all business functions and ability to drive the business forward.
- Self-motivated, initiative-taker with a strong work ethic, dependable and reliable.
- Ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) with the ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally.

- Ability to possess and apply broad knowledge and understanding of regulatory and legal frameworks, requirements, legislation, processes, and procedures.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and overseeing multiple departments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Requires sitting and working on a computer for extended periods of time.
- Able to read documents, computer screens, and make entries into the software system.
- Walking moderately.
- Must be able to lift up to 20lbs to assist in the warehouse as needed.
