Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Manager, Oil and Gas Marketing to join Murphy Oil Canada Ltd based in Calgary. This role will be based in our Calgary office and may work two (2) days a week remote. Salary Range: $180,000 - $200,000 CAD.

Responsibilities
  • To provide flow assurance for all of Murphy hydrocarbons
  • Ability and business acumen to manage people in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to develop strategic plans, maintain and optimize product flows, collaborate with internal and external teams, be results oriented and to meet timelines set for day-to-day activities
  • To monitor and maintain gathering, processing, transportation and sales obligations Interface with Canadian Production Operations for the delivery of hydrocarbons to market
  • Interface frequently and communicate with management and third parties to optimize hydrocarbon flows and maximize the value of Murphy's hydrocarbons
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of the operations and contractual commitments to ensure compliance
  • Coordinate and resolve issues between the field operations, pipelines, 3rd party plants and marketing (e.g., weather related events, planned maintenance, etc.) as required
  • Work closely with the commercial team on acquisitions/expansions/etc. for flow assurance purposes
  • Coordinate with third party to help optimize the downstream transportation allocation strategy
  • Develop models for historical performance analysis and forecasting impacts to operations during material outages, weather events, etc.
  • Develop transparent real time reporting of product (Gas, NGL, Oil) movements from source to sink
  • Provide Murphy teams timely notice of any planned or unplanned operational events
  • Monitor and manage any production availabilities and imbalances
  • Work closely with Murphy Accounting to resolve any rate and/or volume discrepancies

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Logistics or related discipline
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with Midstream management and commercial experience
  • Outstanding relationship management in matrixed organizations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written). Ability to debate and negotiate terms with third parties.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with an ability to coordinate and prioritize numerous initiatives with competing priorities
  • Highly effective and customer-oriented: works well in a team environment
  • Team player who takes an active role in group responsibilities; flexible, and adapts to change
