Summary

This position encompasses organizational forecasting ability and intuitive insight to maximize revenue potential and optimal patient outcomes for the Operating Room and will be accountable for the oversight of POS computer systems. This position will also use metrics to project budget and materials variances, review potential cost overruns, summarize financial data, track trends accurately, and reconcile financial discrepancies & variances.

Job Description

Financial/Capital Management
Oversee financial performance of Perioperative Departments with support of other managers. Identify variances in monthly operating expense. Partner with finance to budget for medical supplies, FTE, case volume, and other key financial statistics.

Business Development
Evaluate need for new products, equipment and services keeping in mind the hospital strategic imperatives. Responsible for preparation of proposals, recommending actions and assisting in planning and coordination of activities when appropriate. Engage current and potential physicians to meet their expectations and make THAM an easy choice for their needs.

Data Analytics
Provide Perioperative leadership team access to data related to Surgery Reports, Financial Reports, Monthly Operating Variances, Budget/Case Volume reports. Responsible for running queries, validating information, and presenting reports.

Process Improvement
Work with Perioperative Leadership Team to identify opportunities for process improvement related to charge capture, supply documentation, clinical documentation, first case starts, turnover time, and block utilization. Works with surgeons to ensure compliance with organizational contracts for supplies and implants.

Performance Management
Responsible for personnel functions including staffing, performance reviews and corrective action. Promotes professional growth and development of all employees. Supports diversity and inclusion in the organization. Recognizes and rewards individual and team accomplishments. Promotes staff retention. Facilitates new staff orientation. Facilitates staff participation in community service. Supports shared decision-making through the unit-based council in order to develop inter/intradepartmental teamwork and team goal accomplishments.

Continuous Improvement
Develop, implement, monitor and assess processes that impact outcomes within the Operating Room. Use benchmark data
from internal and external sources to identify opportunities for improvement of care delivery and safety.

Additional Duties
Support Perioperative Management with ad hoc requests related to operations, reports, vendor issues, supply management, special project, other duties as assigned etc.

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare, Finance, Accounting or related field required
Master's Degree in Business, Healthcare, Finance, Accounting or related field preferred

Experience
3 years related business/healthcare experience required
1 year financial data experience related to perioperative services (highly preferred)
1 year experience with data analytics using Alteryx, creating presentations in Tableau (highly preferred)

Skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications with specific focus on Powerpoint and Excel. Additional knowledge in using systems such as Alteryx, Tableau and Sharepoint. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong customer service and problem resolution skills; Strong interpersonal communication, critical thinking skills, and ability to build collaborative relationships to enhance outcomes; Good organizational and time management skills.

Supervision
This position will manage around 4 employees
