The NAC presents, creates, produces, and co-produces performing arts programming in various streams-the NAC Orchestra, Dance, English Theatre, French Theatre, Indigenous Theatre, and Popular Music and Variety-and nurtures the next generation of audiences and artists from across Canada. Working Hours: Full-Time, 18-month term, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (35 hours per week)

Job Reports To: Director, Philanthropy & Campaign

Key Activities

Reporting to the Director, Philanthropy & Campaign, the Manager works closely with the Director, CEO and Philanthropy team on The Next Act campaign, providing strategic leadership to the Philanthropy & Campaign team and maintaining a personal portfolio of donors and prospects.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the campaign plan, including coordinating activities and managing timelines, accuracy of data and reports;
Meet or exceed an annual target of up to $5 million, working with the team to achieve annual performance metrics and financial targets;
Oversee major gifts and corporate partnerships;
Lead the growth of an established planned giving program;
In collaboration with senior leadership, establish and monitor progress toward goals, tracking key performance indicators, and adjusting strategies as needed to ensure goal attainment;
Build and manage a portfolio of prospects, donors and volunteers in the $100K-$500K gift range, including individuals, foundations and corporations;
Manage the Philanthropy & Campaign team, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure that 3-4 team members are performing their roles and achieving targets;
Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate and solicit a range of new individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners;
Working with the Donor Engagement team, effectively steward major giving donors to ensure long-term commitment to the NAC and identify opportunities for renewal;
Work with senior volunteers to advance relationships and close gifts.

Skill Requirements
7+ years' experience in major gift fundraising;
3+ years' experience managing staff; orientation towards supporting a team to achieve financial and non-financial goals;
Experience in planned giving is an asset;
Proven track record of personal success in securing major philanthropic contributions at the $100K level and above;
Experience developing major gift strategies, and execution, including cultivation, personal solicitation, and stewardship;
Experience working with senior volunteers;
Understanding and experience with donor databases, ideally Raiser's Edge NXT;
Commitment to upholding professional ethics and encouraging philanthropic best practices;
Possess a high level of intellectual curiosity toward the work being done at the NAC and in Canada's performing arts community;
High regard for accuracy and attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize a varied and dynamic workload;
Strong problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, emotional intelligence, and professionalism;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written;
Bilingualism is an asset;
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; fundraising education is preferred.
