Your Opportunity

The Private Enterprise Manager will serve as an integral member of the Small Business Team, reporting to the Partners. The individual will take responsibility and ownership for delivering exceptional client service, meeting strict deadlines to a diverse group of clients, and leading and coaching our great team members.

Your Scope:
  • Responsible for the overall planning, reviewing and completion of work engagements within a variety of business sectors either individually or in a team environment.
  • Ensure that the client is contacted to confirm the timing of the work to be completed; and as well inquire about any unusual or non-recurring events or transactions.
  • Meet with the partner at the time the information is received to review the expected date of completion, fee budget and reasonableness of timeline. Ensure that any timing issues are communicated to the partner and any conflicts with other staff or partners are addressed.
  • When signing in files, ensure that all work is delegated to the most effective Associate level.
  • Interpret and apply accounting principles to complex situations.
  • Resolve complex accounting issues.
  • Provide guidance and support to clients with their accounting functions in an effort to streamline their procedures and processes.
  • Review corporate and personal income tax.
  • Monitor and manage engagements efficiently and effectively by meeting budget and reporting deadlines.


Your Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree/certificate in business or management
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA)
  • Three or more years of auditing and accounting experience, serving a variety of clients (e.g. manufacturing, public companies, municipalities, NPO's, owner-managed firms)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong client service focus
  • Strong technical, organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects
  • Ability to work to deadlines in what can often be pressure situations
  • Strong people management focus, and coaching orientation
