Summary:Responsible for implementing strategic plans through management of strategic Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for North American procurement of manufacturing and distribution product categories.Job includes Request for Quotes, Supplier Negotiations. Supplier negotiations include cost of goods, strategic market exclusives, and private label options. Buying responsibilities include collaboration with marketing. Use analytical tools to prepare and maintain meaningfulreporting of procurement data to support decision process by the enterprise. Utilize internal and external resources to develop spend and savings profiles by category, plant, and distribution center. Develop and maintain tracking systems for procurement projects, commodity positions, and RFPs .Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following major areas. Other duties may be assigned.Champion Cost Savings and Productivity efforts within assigned material categories in conjunction Procurement Directors. Evaluate potential opportunities from a materials, financial, and business perspective.Maintains and improves procurement reports and processes. Produce presentations as required. Assist in conducting and managing vendor reviews. Manage documentation related to preferred and approved vendors. Assist in the development of new vendors.Analyzes procurement and demand data (internal and external) to extract and report relevant information in user-friendly format for distribution resale products and manufacturing ingredients across all product categories.Create spreadsheets and meaningful charts & graphs to clearly communicate demand requirements. Publish savings reports, position reports, and complete post-project savings confirmations. Ensure data and process integrity.Actively manage assigned buyer categories and products. Negotiate cost of goods, best sourcing options. Ensure that all strategic sourcing processes and supplier selection meet the objectives of our N. American enterprise strategy.Actively support sales through the timely execution of RFQs. Negotiate directly with suppliers to secure costs and quantities that meet or exceed required material specifications. Communicate clearly with sales management at all distribution locations nationally to grow market share profitably.Actively participate in development of Key Performance Indicators and reporting for key commodities, category buyers, vendors, and internal suppliers/customers.Maintain and update specific periodic department internal documentation and presentations. Participate in on-going efforts to identify and implement automation and continual improvements throughout the procurement process.Other Duties and Responsibilities: Not include the major areas.Perform RFP activities for customer specific procurement projects and initiatives. Articulate RFP recommendations to Supply Chain leadership for execution.Provide information, training, support, and partnership to the CSR's and Buyers across all customer branches and manufacturing plants.Execute company programs and initiatives with regional personnel as required and across all customer branches. May include: 1) proper inventory purchase management and 2) Regional procurement personnel.Partner with National Account Manager to coordinate and implement LTO (Limited Time Offerings).Partner with National Account Manager to apply and execute quarterly rebates as required from suppliers.Partner with National Account Manager to coordinate and manage Obsolete InventoryPartner with BakeMark Logistics team regarding transportation requirements.Domestic and international suppliers as required.Supervision:This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or University. Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics Management, Math, or Business or commensurate experience. Mathematics, communication, and business management skills required along with demonstrated knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in MS Access, MS Excel, NDS system or other business systems; also have knowledge in MS Word and MS PowerPoint.MS ACCESS: Proficient in query building, import/export (import from text file etc. and export to EXCEL etc.),MS EXCEL: Advanced knowledge in worksheet functions, Pivot Table reports, and charting/graphingLanguage Skills :Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, and others.Mathematical Skills :Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning Ability :Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Physical Demands :While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Work Environment :Duties are generally performed in an office environment, with occasional time spent in the warehouse and/or manufacturing plant.
