Overview

As Recreation Manager, you'll be responsible for supervising the recreation team and assisting the Resort Manager during the busy Winter and Summer seasons at Everline Resort and Spa. You'll oversee recreation facilities, ensuring positive and friendly guest relations. With creativity and curiosity you will work with leadership to create and execute memorable and unique activities for our guests, owners, and community.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for operational efficiency, budget control and guest satisfaction in all recreation areas.
  • Establish and implement staffing, operational budgets, forecasts, policies and procedures and training programs as needed for the various outlets.
  • Implement appropriate management and financial controls to ensure optimum financial contributions to the resort bottom line.
  • Maintain accurate departmental records, files or correspondence, meeting minutes, etc. Establish and implement a system to accurately project recreations "covers" to establish labor levels and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain atmosphere of courtesy, enthusiasm, friendliness and high morale among employees; dependable, friendly and personal service for guests, residents and owners; liaison with owners as needed.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training coaching and counseling and separation of supervisors and employees as required to maintain high caliber of morale, espirit de corps and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure the strict adherence of departmental and company policy and procedures and safety practices.
  • Maintain communication systems with all resort departments via staff meetings, division meetings and special department meetings as required.
  • Assist with oversight of Recreation Intern program and work and travel program.
  • Promote and represent Everline Resort & Spa to outside organizations, companies and groups and work with conference services and marketing to execute.
  • Monitor other resort recreation programs and maintain professional affiliation with local, state and national recreational organizations.
  • Review and update all recreational informational packets, prices and programs on a quarterly basis.
  • Serve on committees as assigned, including safety, team building, recruitment, special events, etc.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 year of previous recreation experience.
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a hospitality or resort environment preferred.
  • Ability to provide legible communication and directions.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to an indoor and outdoor working environment and the noise level in the work place is usually moderate to high.
  • Typical equipment used include but are not limited radios, ice resurfacers, cleaning supplies, handheld devices, phones, and computers.
