The Manager, Reporting manages, prepares, and distributes the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal and/or external use. This includes but is not limited to the following: preparation of Brother International Corporation (BIC) and Brother Mobile Solutions (BMS) reporting packages including the product profit & loss; review of the subsidiaries' monthly/quarterly packages; preparation of the consolidated financial statements; and preparation of the audited financial statements. This position collaborates with the various departments within Finance to assure effective financial reporting and compliance with all financial regulations and procedures. This role works closely with external auditors to provide requested information.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Reporting


  • Prepare monthly/quarterly reporting packages and annual financial statements
  • Facilitate the entire process of preparing the reports and statements by gathering and documenting data
  • Manage the Intercompany transactions reconciliation process with BIC subsidiaries and all Brother Group affiliates
  • Review the subsidiaries reports for compliance and work with the local staff to resolve any issues identified
  • Perform continuous assessment of close process and process re-engineering to reduce the timing of financial reporting
  • Work on annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and ensures compliance with organizational standards and government regulations
  • Prepare and submit government business surveys ensuring accuracy and complete information is reported in a timely matter
  • Provide accounting assistance during special projects


Research and Analysis

  • Identify, resolve, communicate and explain accounting issues to management
  • Research and interpret technical accounting issues
  • Analyze and review loan intercompany account reconciliations, identifying incorrect coding's and unrecorded transactions
  • Work with GL team and subsidiary finance teams to confirm transactions are properly reflected at month-end to ensure proper elimination within the consolidated financial statements


Collaboration

  • Partner with division and subsidiary finance teams to achieve financial objectives, reviewing financial statement submissions analyzing variances, and communicating observations, and initiating corrective actions
  • Create and manage a calendar to inform parties of necessary deadline adherence for the following processes: financial close, Brother Industries Limited (BIL) package, and audited financial statements
  • Assist with internal, external, and SOX audits, by working with the various groups within the Company as well as the audit teams
  • Maintain accounting controls around reporting
  • Provide audit teams with analysis as needed

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Accounting/Finance or Related Field- Required


Experience

  • Minimum 8 years
    • Accounting and/or financial reporting experience
    • Experience working in a corporate setting with multiple entities/divisions providing reporting to meet various requirements


Software/Technical Skills

  • SAP- Accounting Modules & FP&A
  • Hyperion


Other Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS rules with proven record of issue recognition and issue resolution - Required
  • Focus on delivering and demonstrated ability to deliver results - Required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity - Required
  • Detail-oriented and can spot errors and discrepancies in financial data quickly and accurately - Required

This role will be a hybrid role. Subject to business needs, employees may work remotely up to two days per week. Assigned office days will be determined by managers.

  • The salary (or hiring) range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000 per year
  • Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data
  • This position is eligible to participate in the relevant Brother variable pay incentive plan(s). Applicable bonus awards are discretionary and contingent upon 1) achievement of your individual objectives and 2) Brother achieving its corporate and business-level objectives

About Where We Work

Brother's corporate headquarters for the Americas is in Bridgewater, NJ, across from the Bridgewater Commons Mall. This location houses key corporate functions, including HR, legal, finance, IT, and supply chain, and a significant presence of our business unit leadership and marketing teams. Our manufacturing and distribution facility in Bartlett, TN spans an impressive 1.5 million square feet - equivalent to 26 football fields - and is located on Brother Boulevard. In addition to the distribution center operations team, this facility hosts several other departments, including our customer service group. Brother also has employees based in other locations, such as Westminster, CO, where many of our marketing and product engineering team members from the mobile solutions division operate, as well as our distribution centers in Richmond, VA and Perris, CA.
