NOTE: This position is based full-time in our Houston, TX office located in the Galleria Office Tower 1 at 2700 Post Oak Blvd.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager, Revenue & Financial Compliance reports to the Director, Controller. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing the following for all of NuScale's revenue and cost share generating contracts (governmental and commercial): financial compliance, invoicing, financial reporting, revenue and receivable-related monthly reconciliations, and month-end journal entries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for ensuring NuScale's financial compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Manage and ensure timely submission of Incurred Cost Submission (ICS), Certified Statements of Expenditures (CSE), Schedule of Expenditures for Federal Awards (SEFA), SF-425s, success fee reports, and completion of all related audits
  • Manage all customer billing; ensuring timely and contractually compliant invoice submissions
  • Review and reconcile required supporting documentation for all billing, including DOE, to ensure compliance with associated contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Manage, and prepare if needed, all monthly revenue recognition and cost share related journal entries by working closely with Technical Accounting to ensure appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606 and cost share recognition.
  • Responsible for reviewing appropriate setup of accounting-related project details in NuScale's ERP, which ensures that allocations, revenue recognition, and billing can be performed timely and accurately
  • Oversee execution of detailed monthly reconciliations of revenue, deferred revenue, work-in-process, and cost share at the project level
  • Responsible for ensuring that processes and procedures for assigned areas of responsibility are properly documented, with special attention to government accounting with relevant Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Uniform Guidance for Federal Awards and the company's Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements.
  • Manage direct reports; coach and develop these roles by providing clear objectives, timely performance feedback, and career development opportunities
  • Dedication to continuously improving accounting processes and documentation, and leading process improvement initiatives
  • Support the Controller in financial statement and internal audits
  • Perform other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
    • Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related business field is required. An advanced degree and/or Certified Public Accountant (or similar) designation is preferred.
    • Experience: A minimum of eight years of full-time accounting experience, with at least three years of supervisory/managerial experience, is required. Must possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organization. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to work successfully on cross-functional teams, as well as independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives. Additional required or preferred skills are as follows:
      • Expertise in regulations related to government contracts and experience with related reporting
      • Significant knowledge of US GAAP and SOX
      • Demonstrated proficiency of accounting/auditing in a SOX 404(b) environment
      • Proven ability to analyze operational results
      • Demonstrated proficiency identifying and driving process improvement initiatives
      • ERP system experience in a SOX environment
      • Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and external stakeholders
    • Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

    The target pay range for this position is $124,531 - $150,138 annually. The full pay range is $111,531 - $174,446.
