What you'll do as a Manager, Sales and Use Tax
  • Manage the indirect tax process to ensure technical accuracy and external monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlines are met
  • Design and adhere to compliance with key SOX controls related to sales & use tax accounting
  • Comprehensive technical skills in multi-state tax compliance, reconciling sales and use tax accounts, assisting with audits, and reviewing accruals of use tax on purchases
  • Manage and ensure the technical accuracy of sales and use tax returns, as well as taxes on construction labor
  • Keep abreast of accounting and tax law changes and determine financial statements and returns impacts, including process changes needed
  • Liaise with other corporate departments and with subsidiaries to ensure the tax effects of transactions and developments are appropriately captured in the sales and use tax returns
  • Help improve the tax function to control risk and facilitate better decision making by increasing efficiencies
  • Assist with determining the tax implications of planning strategies and transactions
  • Effectively and efficiently research tax issues and document findings, form an opinion/conclusion, and provide meaningful recommendations
  • Assist with tax notifications and audits
  • Utilize software such as Vertex to achieve best corporate tax practices


What you'll need
  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or tax related program, CPA and/or Master's degree a plus
  • Minimum of 8-10 years relevant work experience with a strong understanding of the review process for multi-state sales and use tax compliance, reconciliations, accounting, and managing audits for publicly traded corporations
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel using formulas and functions
  • In depth experience utilizing tax research platforms such as Avalara, CCH, BNA, etc.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and travel (up to 10%) when necessary
  • Working knowledge of Vertex is a plus
  • Experience with Alteryx is a plus
