We're looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead our Billing, Subscription, and Cloud Engineering Platform team. In this role, you'll drive our client platform strategy, build a high-performing engineering team, and deliver scalable solutions that power innovative digital experiences.
You'll foster a culture of collaboration, growth, and technical excellence while ensuring our platform leverages modern technologies and aligns with best practices. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll shape the technical vision and execute critical initiatives that support business goals and enhance user experiences through data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead & Develop Teams: Build, mentor, and manage a team of talented engineers
across iOS, Android and Web platforms, fostering a culture of collaboration,
innovation, and high performance.
Drive Platform Excellence: Lead the design and development of integrations, apps, or solutions tailored for the Shopify platform, ensuring seamless performance and alignment with Shopify's APIs, standards, and merchant ecosystem.
Collaborate with Partners: Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and Shopify stakeholders to drive technical strategy, product fit, and go-to-market readiness for joint initiatives.
Innovate & Implement: Identify opportunities to integrate new technologies and
methodologies into our engineering practices, ensuring our platforms remain robust and scalable.
Drive Performance & Quality: Advocate for best practices in code quality, testing, and performance, ensuring the team builds scalable and maintainable solutions.
Qualifications:
The pay range for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at commencement of employment and is expected to be between USD$165,000-225,000/year. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including role, job-related knowledge, skills, relevant education and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including bonus, equity, and a full range of benefits. Details of all benefits will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

Qualifications:
- 7 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.
- Strong technical background in any programing language like Java, Python, C, C++
- Experience in working with Subscription integrations with vendors like Stripe, Recurly etc..
- Proven experience building on or integrating with the Shopify platform, including familiarity with Shopify APIs, app development, and merchant-focused solutions.
- Proven ability to mentor, develop, and inspire a diverse team of engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product, UX, and other stakeholders to define requirements, set expectations, and deliver on project goals.
- Strategic thinker who can identify challenges and opportunities, implementing solutions that deliver measurable impact.
