The Ministry of Justice is seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented individual for the position of Manager, Strategic Operations to support the Chief Judge of the Provincial Court. The successful candidate will:

Typically, the successful candidate will have several years of experience working in the court system. The knowledge for this position would be gained through a relevant degree, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

- Report to the Chief Judge of the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports analyzing data; track operations statistics including business analytics, interpret and aggregate datasets, and prepare other reports as directed.
- Manage financial forecasting and payroll, liaise on human resources, health and benefit plans and develop programs to enhance efficiency, streamline workflows and support organizational objectives.
- Provide written and verbal analysis and recommendations to judicial committees and the Judiciary on changes to court policies and procedures.
- Review, analyze and assess current court operational policies and procedures and conduct inter-jurisdictional research on best practices. Develop procedures and provide direction on the implementation of new policies and procedures to ensure consistency in policy application.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities by assessing, reporting and monitoring new initiatives and legislative changes that have been implemented in Saskatchewan and among other provincial courts to ensure they are meeting the implementation goals.
- Provide expertise and advice to the Court on its policy and procedures and assist when issues arise that are not covered in existing policy.
The successful candidate will have:
- Knowledge of Provincial Court operations and procedures and legal terminology, and the ability to understand legislation would be an asset.
- Good organizational skills and an ability to set priorities, manage issues and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Good conceptual and analytical skills.
- Strong judgement, problem-solving solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of government administration and decision-making processes.
- Ability to work independently and with stakeholder groups and committees.
