Description:
The Ministry of Finance is looking for a Strategic Policy Manager to support the new Financial Shared Service Branch within the Provincial Comptroller's Office.
The Manager of Strategic Policy will provide expertise, research, and analysis to support and enable strategic, operational, and budgetary planning within the Branch and Division and provide program recommendations to the Executive Director and Directors in alignment with the Ministry's strategic direction.
This position will lead branch initiatives to identify and research new and innovative processes to meet clients' diverse and evolving needs. They will liaise with Directors and client ministries to ensure current and accurate information is reflected in all analyses. This position will work with the Enterprise Business Modernization Project (EBMP) team on a variety of activities as we finalize development and implementation of the new financial application, Government Enterprise Management (GEM).
The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience with financial processes within the Government of Saskatchewan. You will also have knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, audit standards and financial controls. You will have experience with strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting, and program reviews. Exceptional analytical, problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills are required.
Typically, the knowledge required for this position would be obtained through a post-secondary education in Business Administration with Accounting. Preference will be given to those who have a CPA designation. Similar combinations of experience and education will also be considered.
