RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Programmatic initiatives for Stroke and STEMI sub-service lines. Assures compliance with Primary Stroke Center and Chest Pain certification requirements. Serves as the point of contact for stroke and STEMI treatment throughout the hospital. Works collaboratively with the Stroke Committee Chairman and other key stakeholders on all stroke efforts. Works collaboratively with CV Services director and other key stakeholders on all STEMI efforts. Functions as a clinician, an educator, a consultant and a researcher with the primary responsibility for promoting quality care for stroke and STEMI patients. Coordinates and manages care of stroke and STEMI patients in order to meet multiple service needs, ensure continuity of care, and eliminate fragmentation of care and services in all settings across the continuum. Collaborates with EMS to optimize stroke and STEMI programs.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of a Nursing program.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelors degree and three (3) years of recent and relevant clinical experience related to stroke care and/or Chest Pain/STEMI care OR
Associates degree and five (5) years of recent and relevant clinical experience related to stroke care and/or Chest Pain/STEMI care.
Experience with data analysis and research required.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
ACLS required.
Masters Degree preferred.
Advanced certification in Neuroscience nursing (CNRN) or Stroke Certified Registered Nurse (SCRN) and/or Critical Care nursing (CCRN) preferred.
NIHSS certification preferred.
