Pay Details:
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $80,000 to $100,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate's geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.
The Manager, Traffic Control oversees vehicular and pedestrian movement throughout the District during both event and non-event operations. This role is responsible for developing traffic plans in collaboration with the Vice President of Parking Services, the Vice President of Security & Guest Services, and Anaheim Police Department Traffic representatives, considering attendance, event schedules, and external factors affecting traffic flow. The position manages the scheduling and deployment of traffic control personnel while maintaining a strong working knowledge of parking technologies, including Park Assist, Park Whiz, and digital signage systems. Additionally, the Manager programs these systems to ensure proper messaging based on event configurations. This role is also responsible for the strategic deployment of traffic control devices, such as cones, delineators, signage, and portable safety bollards, to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow. The Manager ensures all traffic personnel receive appropriate training and is expected to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement traffic control plans for event and non-event operations
- Hire, train, and deploy both full and part-time Traffic Control team members
- Programming and confirmation of signage throughout the District specific to traffic management is accurate depending on event configuration
- Manage pre-event traffic planning, including calls and meetings with promoters and site walk-throughs
- Establish an individualized, tailored traffic management plan and posture for each event
- Determine the level of staffing required based on anticipated attendance, day of week, time of event, competing / conflicting events, and extraneous factors (e.g., road work)
- Continuous communication with Parking management and Security management prior to, during, and following all events
- Regular and ongoing interaction with Parking and Security management to identify areas of opportunity / improvement and to ensure preparedness for upcoming impactful dates / events the nature of the event, current intelligence, previous appearances at other venues, and expected attendance
- Establish the deployment plan to include doors, screening, roam teams, supervisors, communications, and camera operators
- Ensures adequate staffing is scheduled well in advance of scheduled events
- Ensure any third-party contractor (if applicable) is made aware of staffing needs well in advance of the scheduled event
- Deliver the overall traffic control briefing before event(s)
- Ensure incidents are responded to and handled appropriately and that all required documentation is completed and submitted
- Ensure relevant personnel (e.g., management personnel, Legal, Risk Management, etc.) are informed as needed following a qualifying incident
- Work closely with the Event Managers On Duty, Premium Seating, and Guest Services to ensure a professional, safe, and enjoyable event
- Collaborate with peers in the industry to evaluate and stay abreast of current trends, equipment, procedures, processes
Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities as outlined
- Experience managing traffic operations specifically preferred
- A combination of higher education and/or experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities may be considered qualifying
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, methods, techniques, and equipment related to vehicle and pedestrian traffic
- Project planning, development, and implementation skills and/or background
- Able to foster and maintain a cooperative work environment within a complex organizational structure
- Knowledge and expertise to offer technical guidance to staff, guests, and visitors
- Able to organize resources and establish priorities
- Able to assemble facts and information following an incident or event
- Able to write in a compelling, succinct, and informative manner
- Able to conduct research into the best practices and innovative strategies within the field of venue and district security
