Job Title: Manager, Trucking

Reports To: Trucking & Last Mile Carrier Manager

Location: Grande Prairie, AB

The Manager, Trucking is responsible for leading and executing on all operational ventures related to Source's trucking division. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with Source's Operations and Last Mile Logistics teams to guarantee the fulfillment of job requirements and key performance indicators (KPIs). This role will directly be responsible for budget and financial performance goals for the trucking division and serves a key function in the growth of our organization.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Oversee and manage Source's trucking division to ensure that the company executes a best in class level of service for all its stakeholders;
  • Work with dedicated trucking HSE and all levels of the organization to continue to drive a safety culture, the highest level of safety performance and service quality;
  • Identify, develop and implement best practices and procedures for trucking operations;
  • Create an organization with best in class operational practices and driving accountability throughout the business units;
  • Build a scalable business unit that can quickly adapt to changing market conditions;
  • Ensure profitability levels are achieved across all aspects of trucking;
  • Develop and implement technologies that stream line business practices across trucking;
  • Ensure regulatory compliance of drivers and equipment;
  • Work with the Maintenance Manager to develop and maintain a trucking maintenance program;
  • Previous working exposure to Carrier/NSC Audits;
  • Federal Prorates/Licensing;
  • HOS Audits;
  • Repairs & Maintenance experience;
  • Vendor selection;
  • Other duties as required.


Leadership

  • Provide leadership and direction by engaging and empowering a dedicated and diverse team;
  • Instill a strong customer service attitude at all levels of trucking;
  • Ensure the team is aligned in achieving the operational, business development, and financial performance goals.


What Will Help You Succeed:We are looking for individuals with a hardworking attitude, who have working knowledge of tools and mechanics. Individuals must be self-motivated and adaptable to change. Other things that will help you succeed in this role include:

  • Minimum 10 years of proven experience in trucking environment;
  • Minimum 8 years of proven management experience, leading and mentoring a large team directly and indirectly;
  • Strong business development and technical acumen, with keen ability to work with all levels of field and corporate staff; and
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering technology, or commerce/business administration an asset but not a requirement.

  • A high performer who is strongly motivated to meet deadlines;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including strong communication both orally and written with the ability to build relationships;
  • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on ability to generate information from spreadsheets; a strong affinity for attention to detail is a must;
  • A strong team player;
  • Ability to take raw data and refine into quality information to support business decisions;
  • Ability to perform financial statement analysis;
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including proficient Excel modeling skills;
  • Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines with strong organization skills;
  • Ability to learn, adapt to change and be flexible in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment; and
  • Preference will be given to candidates with previous work experience in oil and gas, logistics and / or related services.
