Manager, Workforce Training and Development
The target hiring range for this position is $80k-$85k.
Position Summary:
The Manager, Workforce Training and Development supports the function by assessing, planning, applying, and implementing professional development and continuing education programs. The Manager, Workforce Training and Development assures learning activities align and support the course and program outcomes to successfully contribute to strategic initiatives within the Innovations branch of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in people leading, professional development and continuing education program development. In addition to a strong background in the learning management systems (LMS) - Absorb and Canvas.
Role and Responsibilities:
Participates and facilitates in weekly Instructional Design meetings including 1:1s, coaching/mentoring meetings, and team meetings.
Manages schedules including time off approvals and necessary adjustments to ensure coverage of projects and meetings when appropriate.
Provides orientation for new Instructional Designers.
All new hires are required to attend New Collaborator Orientation (NCO) in Salt Lake City, Utah. The College will pay for travel and lodging accommodations.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Manages time divided between leadership tasks at 80% and instructional design tasks at 20%:
Participates and facilitates in weekly Instructional Design meetings including 1:1s, coaching/mentoring meetings, and team meetings.
Manages schedules including time off approvals and necessary adjustments to ensure coverage of projects and meetings when appropriate.
Provides orientation for new Instructional Designers.
- Determines the suitable instructional design method, media selection, and facilitation style for the implementation of organizational interventions and solutions.
- Performs cause, knowledge, or gap analyses to help determine appropriate learning delivery options.
- Partner with functions across the organization to align training initiatives with strategic business goals.
- Measure success through post-training assessments, performance metrics, and real-time feedback to ensure programs deliver results.
- Use data-driven insights to identify training needs and measure the effectiveness of programs.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure training content remains current and aligned with industry best practices.
- Manages the development of educational materials for instructor led delivery platforms and updates of existing course materials to reflect changes in law, regulation, philosophy, or practice.
- Participates in professional development and continuing education sessions with nursing faculty and SMEs.
- Assists in the development of short-term training programs including vendor and partner training.
- Assists in the development and implementation of short-term and long-term strategic plans for the assessment and evaluation of professional development and continuing education courses.
- Maintain curriculum/continuing education development schedules.
- Ensures the Innovations projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Participates in the successful implementation of other functional projects as they arise.
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in Business, Learning, and Development, Curriculum Development, Nursing, Human Resources, or Organizational Development.
- A minimum of three years of experience as a people leader is required.
- A minimum of three years of participating in the design of learning technology, software, or learning environments is required.
- A minimum of three years of experience developing courses in LMS and authoring tools is required.
- Demonstrated understanding of concept-based, competency-based, project-based, and other learning design models is required.
- Demonstrated mastery of MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
- Demonstrated strength in administrative and organizational skills is required.
- Demonstrated ability to partner and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders is required.
