Summary
Develops, oversees and implements the delivery of existing and future laboratory services while ensuring the highest possible level of quality. Manages resources to ensure output of results meets patient needs and economic resources of the hospital.
Responsibilities
Develops and implements comprehensive test menu to ensure patient and provider needs are met while meeting financial and strategic goals of the institution. Assists in planning and maintaining operational budgets. Completes detailed variance reports in a timely manner. Schedules, interviews, hires, orients and assures competency of staff. Completes thorough performance evaluations in a timely manner. Monitors productivity in the department to ensure proper utilization of staff. Aligns testing and services within department to LBH organizational strategies and goals. Develops and monitors department quality indicators and performance improvement initiatives within the laboratory. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies including CAP, CLSI, TJC, AABB and FDA. Assures quality outcomes through regular implementation of performance improvement initiatives within department. Defines quality monitors for the department. Evaluates data on a regular basis and implements strategies to ensure compliance.
Experience: Required: * 5-7 YEARS Education: Required: * Bachelor's Degree - Must have experience in Microbiology Laboratory
