Our New York office is seeking an experienced Managing Clerk to join our dynamic Litigation Practice Group. While this position is based in New York, the successful candidate will also support other offices across the firm's national platform and may be required to manage filings in multiple jurisdictions. As a vital member of our Litigation Practice Group, you will:

  • Personally handle the preparation and electronic filing of legal documents in federal, state, and local courts, primarily in NY and NJ and occasionally others.
  • Review legal documents for compliance with court filing requirements.
  • Stay current with court rules and procedures, proactively advising attorneys and legal teams on updates and changes.
  • Serve as the point of contact for complex docketing or calendaring issues across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Prepare and implement best practices for risk mitigation related to missed deadlines or filing errors.
  • Train, coordinate with and support litigation assistants and docketing staff to ensure consistency and adherence to deadlines.
  • Maintain detailed reports to ensure all docket entries, court filings and notices are recorded and any billable time is submitted in accordance with team polices.
  • Collaborate with the firm's docketing team to ensure accurate tracking of litigation deadlines and court appearances.
  • Serve as a resource to attorneys and staff regarding court procedures and deadlines.


To excel in this role, you are required to have:

  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in docketing, litigation support, or calendaring, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Advanced knowledge of federal and state court rules, including CM/ECF, PACER, and state-specific e-filing systems (e.g., NYSCEF).
  • Proficiency with docketing and calendar management tools such as CourtAlert, CompuLaw, or American LegalNet.
  • A strong understanding of litigation workflows and the ability to lead teams through deadline-driven environments.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and time management skills.
  • A proven ability to track, manage, and bill for court filings accurately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams while working collaboratively across departments.

Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Schedule: Monday through Friday (extended hours as needed)

Salary Range: $97,000.00 - $120,000.00

Bonus: Discretionary holiday bonus
