Managing Software Engineer - Senior Data Architect

Location - Toronto, ON

Duration - Fulltime

Job Descriptions
  • Developing and implementing an overall organizational data strategy that is in line with business processes.
  • The strategy includes data model designs, database development standards, implementation and management of data warehouses and data analytics systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand logical, physical data model structure, integrate, govern, store, describe and design data model
  • Identify impact on existing model / solution triggered by new / changed requirements keeping integrity of models
  • Communicate with customer and understand their business and technical roadmap
  • Work as one team with peer architects, modelers, and data engineers ; Work with offshore counterparts in different timezone
  • Strategize and Design target data architecture, standardize and manage key dimensions
  • Map to information entities that can define how information should flow and be consumed by various business functions and IT customers
  • Document data flow diagrams to determine what can be measured, when and how
  • Provide insight into the database storage and utilization requirements for the company and offer suggestions for solutions
  • Analyze database implementation methods to make sure they are in line with company policies
  • Develop data warehouse design and architecture documentation for future state
  • Develop business case for the proposed future state architecture - cost/benefit analysis

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as Data Architect
  • Experience designing enterprise data applications on AWS
  • 3+ years' Experience in executing consultation engagement for Data Estate Modernization
  • Should have good experience with AWS Services - S3, Athena, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, Redshift.
  • Knowledge on MS Azure architecture
  • AWS Certified Data Analyst preferred
