Objective of the Position: Manage current & future canning & shell welding activities within the plant.

Essential Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that

  • Drive process development and improvement related to canning incl. related tooling and equipment.
  • Ensure the deployment and improvement of process standards & best practices related to canning and big diameter tube lines.
  • Support new tooling design review with corporate BU ME Team
  • Recommend and implement improve existing tooling considering product interface Interface with the product.
  • Ensure manufacturing feasibility before program launch, working with the BU ME Teams to design the appropriate flow diagram of the process.
  • Support plant programs and suppliers for process issues related to canning.
  • Support equipment run-off at supplier and in plant for new equipment and complete standard PUREM Equipment Acceptance Forms
  • Ensure the deployment and improvement of process standards & best practices related to canning.
  • Maintain good working relationship with Purem BU & European teams for the efficient exchange of experience related to process design within the Global Canning networks
  • Track equipment capacity
  • Enter tooling purchase requisitions into SAP and track them through the approval process
  • Able to create and track EC's (Engineering Changes) with support of the BU ME Team if product print or manufacturing process need to be changed after launch of a program

Secondary Accountabilities:The position incumbent ensures, that
  • Conduct all business related activities for, and on the behalf of, Purem within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
  • Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Purem Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and other HSE related requirements.
  • Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all EETAM polices related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looks for way to improve and promote quality.
  • Support process development and improvement related to canning incl. related tooling and equipment.
  • Attend and complete and training required by the BU ME Team
  • Networking capabilities, ability to work in a matrix organization

Requirement Profile:

Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Engineering or Science
  • Minimum five years' manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering experience working for an automotive supplier in metal fabrication.
  • Proven technical skills on process and product, in canning
  • Ability to travel domestically by car or plane.
  • Ability to travel internationally when required
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • English required, other language will be a plus.
