This position is responsible for supporting plant leadership in achieving business and financial goals by developing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes and tooling, and leading continuous improvement / cost out initiatives across the organization. Additional responsibility includes executing the organization's strategic plan consistent with federal, state, and local regulations, established industry standards, and customer requirements

Additional description
A. Support R&O repair technicians during overhaul processing, answering technical questions, and generally helping so the organization can meet Turn Around Time (TAT) commitments. Ensure compliance with industry safety, FAA, and internal standards and guidelines.
B. Support TAT by assuring technicians have the proper tooling and equipment, and assure in house test stands are fully operational and supported. Design tooling and production aids and fixtures, for improved production efficiency during assembly and inspection. Maintain and promotes organization's production equipment and tooling tracking procedure.
C. Assists in the composition of Capital Appropriation Requests (including payback and net present value analysis) for acquisition of equipment to support emerging and existing technologies as required.
D. Collaborates with cross functional departments in performing root cause analysis related to equipment failure in the field. Analyze equipment failure trends, and work with both production ME's and Engineering to solve problems and improve the products.
E. Work with the Technical Publication group in support of Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) creation and update.
F. Conduct facility planning and facility layout development for new and revised product lines. Promotes culture of continuous improvement and understands lean manufacturing techniques as they apply to eliminate waste and deliver products to customer's expectations.

1. Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques - i.e. value stream mapping, one piece flow, etc.
2. Knowledge of Six Sigma concepts and tools as they relate to minimizing process / product variability - i.e., hypothesis testing, etc.
3. Working knowledge of engineering design and product reliability concepts as to facilitate analysis of fluid mechanics, mechanical design, material engineering, electronic circuits, Electronic parts, etc.
4. Understanding of problem solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) - i.e. thought maps, 8D, root cause analysis, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, control charts, Pareto charts, etc.
5. Proficiency in MS Office suite, knowledge of Computer Aided Design / Computer Aided Manufacturing, e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks
6. Knowledge of industry and customer specific quality processes (i.e., ISO9001, AS9100 etc).
