Description:

Responsible for driving continuous improvement, enhancing production efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in our manufacturing processes. You will lead complex engineering projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the design, development, and implementation of advanced manufacturing techniques and technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Create new and modify existing tool and gage designs using 2D and 3D CAD software (Solid Works)
  • Develop CNC programs using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software based on engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications
  • Select appropriate machining strategies, toolpaths, cutting parameters, and tooling to optimize machining processes and achieve desired outcomes
  • Design tooling, fixtures, and work holding solutions to facilitate CNC machining operations, ensuring proper tool access, stability, and alignment
  • Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for machining and assembly operations
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans
  • Conduct time studies and workflow analyses to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction
  • Provide technical support to the production team to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure optimal performance of machinery and equipment
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address quality issues
  • Work with the Quality Department to develop and implement quality control plans
  • Collaborate with Design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products
  • Conduct pilot runs and validate processes to ensure readiness for handoff to the production team
  • Lead engineering projects from concept through implementation, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Stay current with advancements in manufacturing technologies, including CNC machining, robotics, automation, and additive manufacturing
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary equipment and materials
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance on technical and professional development
  • Lead by example, fostering a culture of teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Support the Manufacturing Manager in strategic planning and decision-making
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety improvements to minimize hazards
  • Maintain and keep workstation and department area clean
  • Demonstrate sound working knowledge of firearms safety
  • Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment directed by the Company at all times
  • Adhere to all employment policies/safety policies/practices required by law/established by the Company
  • Other duties will be assigned as required.


Qualifications &Knowledge Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
  • Proven track record of leading successful engineering projects and process improvements
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, assembly techniques, and manufacturing principles.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, HSM, Edgecam)
  • Working knowledge of firearms production, tooling and gauges
  • Proven knowledge of drafting standards and tolerances
  • Experience using inspection equipment and tools
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • General computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be capable of following all established environmental safety protocols required by OSHA/federal and state agencies and the Company
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with team members at all levels
