Job Description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to provide technical support to our production department. This role involves developing metrics, troubleshooting production quality issues, initiating process improvements, training production employees, and providing corrective actions on customer issues. You will also be involved in the development of new products, including directing prototypes, interacting with production employees on requirements, and reviewing capital equipment. Additionally, you will develop and maintain production documentation and be an active team member on various lean improvement projects.
Responsibilities
This is an onsite position working closely with the roto team, which includes one other engineer. The team consists of 40 people in total. You will work closely with another engineer and the Production Lead, reporting to the Director of Operations. Core hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM with some flexibility based on needs and personal schedules. The company offers an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), quarterly bonuses, and is privately owned.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $115000.00/yr.

Job Description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to provide technical support to our production department. Additionally, you will develop and maintain production documentation and be an active team member on various lean improvement projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to the production department by developing metrics, reviewing resources, troubleshooting production quality issues, initiating process improvements, training production employees, and providing corrective actions on customer issues.
- Participate in the development of new products by directing prototypes, interacting with production employees on requirements, and reviewing capital equipment.
- Develop and maintain production documentation, including initiating and updating routings and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and controlled documents.
- Actively participate in Kaizen/Lean events, internal audits, action items, and various engineering projects.
- Plan and design manufacturing processes for a production facility, analyzing assembly, fabrication, machining, and other processes.
- Work on complex tasks and projects individually and collaborate with supervisors and other team members as needed.
- Plan and implement preventive and corrective actions to reduce scrap, rework, and downtime.
- Contribute to the creation and continuous improvement of manufacturing work instructions, process control plans, and other documentation required for production release.
- Support operations performance in meeting quality, safety, morale, cost, productivity, and delivery objectives.
- Understand and support continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
- Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods and production equipment capabilities.
- Apply statistical methods and SPC in reviewing production capability and design adherence.
- Apply Lean manufacturing concepts when analyzing workflow and space utilization.
- Estimate production costs for management decisions.
- Process ECOs, routings, and other product data in a timely and productive manner.
- Resolve issues in a reasonable timeframe, maintaining connectivity to shop floor issues and collaborating with shop floor employees.
- 3+ years of experience working with rotation molding
- Proficiency in Solidworks
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Experience in manufacturing engineering and process engineering
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies
- Experience with continuous improvement and tooling
- Familiarity with rotational molding and injection molding processes
- Ability to apply statistical methods and SPC in production capability reviews
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts
- Experience with estimating production costs
- Ability to process ECOs and routings efficiently
- Persistent in resolving issues and maintaining process improvements
