SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Manager's primary role is to coordinate and control manufacturing processes, ensuring high-quality products are delivered on time and within budget. In the Manufacturing Manager role, you will manage, develop, and coach employees working in all areas of the Clinton Manufacturing Areas. You will also lead our production team to meet goals in a safe and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure all safety, quality, and security guidelines are followed.
  • Oversee the daily production of all production areas.
  • Plan and monitor the production schedule for the machine shops, assembly areas, braze, and post braze processing areas.
  • Manage throughput for all machining and detail/assembly operations; expedite and prioritize as required.
  • Act as subject-matter-expert for CNC machining, brazing, surface finishing, and assembly processes.
  • Own the development of long-term machining plan with daily throughput targets and staffing plan by machine.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects.
  • Create a resolution plan for clearing backlog.
  • Develop a machining/tooling plan to increase the utilization of underutilized machining assets.
  • Drive continuous improvement to achieve cost reductions and productivity improvements.
  • In collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, implement/own projects (and related metrics) that increase the efficiency of machining and touch-labor operations.
  • Labor efficiency - Responsible for achieving YOY labor efficiency improvement targets for machining and detail/assembly operations for steady-state programs.
  • Support employees on the production floor.
  • Ensure time clocking discipline/accuracy on all shifts.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and mentor employees at all levels.
  • Review employee performance and identify training needs.
  • Develop or coordinate necessary training for employees.
  • Oversee equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Responsible for selecting equipment and coordinating equipment repairs and maintenance as needed.
  • Work with the Facilities and Maintenance Manager to implement a cost-effective preventative maintenance plan that addresses repeat maintenance issues to achieve YOY reduction in maintenance costs and reduces unscheduled downtime of machining assets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities to include interviewing, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Experience with brazing.
  • Extensive experience in Lean or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
    • Certified Lean Practitioner and/or Six Sigma Black Belt a plus.
  • Experience establishing standard costing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Advanced computer skills (MS office, ERP, data analysis) required. Epicor experience is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screens in accordance with company policy.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. May be substituted with commensurate experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Experience must include AS9100 or ISO environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to speak and understand basic safety and manufacturing instructions.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers. Ability to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Authorization to work in the United States. To conform to U.S. export control regulations, you should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.
