Job Summary: The Manufacturing Process Engineer will analyze current business methods and data to discover and drive both performance and quality improvements through end-to-end process design and management. Responsibities will include delivering regular recommendations on how to maintain lower costs and raise productivity while meeting all of the quality standards set forth by the company and its customers. Work side-by-side with the Glastron Team to discover inefficiencies in business and manufacturing processes and determine the best ways to bring our business methods in line with our financial goals and customer expectations.
Job Duties:
Promote more effective use of existing tools and processes, and eliminate those that are not used or ineffectual. Lead the development of and implement standard work and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Programs throughout the organization and facilitate writing of new SOPs's where needed. Responsible for driving quality, cost and service delivery projects to completion using formal process improvement methodologies. Oversee the design, implementation, operation and assessment of Glastron's Quality Management System. Act as Glastron Representative for Quality Management Systems to which Glastron is registered or certified. Act as primary quality contact for external entities. Support Glastron's capacity planning and management efforts to lean out the supply chain and drive inventory and lead times to a minimum. Develop and monitor budget for the department, taking corrective action as necessary to meet or exceed targets. Communicate the vision of Glastron's corporate philosophy and uses every opportunity available to communicate a vision of cooperation, innovation, and excellence. Serve as a catalyst for change management as well as teaches, mentors, and coaches other consultants and associates. Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical or Quality Engineering or related technical field.
- Preferred 7 years' relevant work experience in process improvement, change management and Quality Management Systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical compentancy in Lean/Six Sigma skills preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and train Green Belts and/or project teams.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work woith business partners in a position with influence and limited authority.
- Experience with document control.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Knowledge of quality system specifications (i.e., ISO/QS 9000)
- Excellent computer competency, specifically database and statistical applications (i.e., Excel and Minitab and Autocad)
- Ability to interpret geometrical dimensions and tolerances on drawings
- Strong analytical and decision making skills
- Strong attention to accuracy and detail
- Good listening, oral, and written communication skills
