This position contributes to the success of the Gatorade MFG Facility by directing the production team to meet customer needs and achieve standards related to cost, line efficiencies, waste, safety and productivity. This individual must set production performance standards and align the organization to achieve standards.

Responsibilities

  • Applies knowledge of processes, equipment, and system capability to set challenging individual and facility standards.
    • Daily management Systems, DMS (Facilitation and understanding of process)
      • Facilitation of team meetings
      • Computer access and navigation
    • Layered Audits for Floor processes verification
      • Floor Walks around production facility
      • Understanding process, physically able to complete audit, understanding of practices to resolve any issues found during audit
    • CIL/CL verification, auditing, and coaching processes
      • Understanding process, physically able to complete audit, understanding of practices to resolve any issues found during audit, complete disciplinary practices and understanding of disciplinary processes
    • Troubleshooting through SRC/Kaizen/FI Project Processes
      • Understanding to describe DMAIC process
      • Understanding to describe root causes and action through SRC process
      • Ability to work through high level project and formulation of project team, physically able to complete any necessary data collection at machine centers or completing any action items
    • Confirmations (computer)
    • TPM Practices and Audits
  • Develops Annual Operating Plan for Production
    • Able to manage daily manpower coverage to ensure appropriate staffing
    • Able to complete operator tasks in events where no coverage/labor is available
    • i.e- able to run machine center due to excessive calloffs to be able to keep line running
    • i.e-fallen product of bottles in depal or cases at palletizer and need to clear out before line can resume production
    • Able to perform all necessary documentation prep for upcoming event, work with external departments on any external needs during the event, and able to physically manage the full event on the production floor
      • Changeovers, AM DDE Events startup, shutdowns
    • Able to complete proper cycle counts of ingredient and packaging materials
      • In events where proper team is unable to cycle count need to be able to locate and walk manufacturing facility to complete cycle counts
    • Able to properly communicate with Planning and Logistics team and M&S when shortages of ingredients and packaging materials occur
    • Able to adjust production schedule accordingly based on lack of materials available and avoid yield/scrap loss of over production
      • i.e- bottle dock advises of a low bottle shortage, need to understand batching limitations to avoid excess batches while waiting on more bottles
      • i.e- lack of labels, able to complete cycle count (complete full count of production inventory in warehouse of labels) and compute necessary amount of labels needed to meet production needs (advise team on any production schedule changes due to lack of material)
      • i.e- lack of bottles, able to complete cycle count (count of all full bottle pallets in bottle dock and of trailer yard if necessary) to be able to ensure production continues and compute necessary amount of bottles needed to meet production needs (advise team on any production schedule changes due to lack of material)
    • Managing and facilitation of shutdowns, unplanned and planned downtime events to limit yield and scrap loss
    • Able to physically monitor, facilitate and resolve downtime instances that require hands-on ability to keep line running
    • Able to properly plan out and facilitate planned downtime events
    • Able to physically monitor and manage events of material delays and transportation issues
  • Achieve performance standards with regards to safety, line utilization and quality
    • Rework of quality defective product (able to lift and maneuver cases for long periods of time if needed)
    • Clearing out quality product off the line in events of a line shutdown/issue to avoid further downtime
      • i.e-cooler shutdown and must clear out product from infeed conveyors (lifting bottles off a conveyor above shoulders and placing in bottle bins (approx. [redacted] bottles)
      • i.e- flavor change becomes mixed online and need to remove product from conveyors
    • Able to understand practices of batch verification to avoid batching errors and able to correct and coach operators in events errors due occur
    • Able to physically monitor, facilitate and resolve downtime instances that require hands-on ability to keep line running
  • Tracks key performance indicators/costs, anticipating and correcting trends which would compromise achievement of financial targets
    • Able to understand flag chart data and during DMS process utilize these trends to develop action plans with team to resolve
    • Able to pull data from computer programs and assist operations team to utilize these programs as well (EIT- able to see downtime instances and have an understanding of this program, pull Machine availability data for shiftly DMS review with team, understand what to do in instances where data is not at target and how to correct)
    • Able to move manpower coverage around in any event that leads to unplanned downtime instances to avoid additional financial burden to the company
  • Oversees and assures facility equipment reliability to minimize downtime
    • Able to complete floor walks designated to catching leading indicators to performance issues on the line
    • Able to manage planned downtime events (prep for event and manage team through event on the production floor)
  • Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for frontline hourly personnel
    • Able to demonstrate key capabilities in each machine center to aid in training opportunities with frontline or assist in operations as needed
    • Able to understand Contract with Union and ability to initiate disciplinary actions
  • Ensures compliance with all Health & Safety regulations


  • Shows demonstrated computer proficiency: Microsoft Suite
    • Able to proficiently utilize Microsoft Suite and computer functions
    • Able to proficiently utilize telecommunication methods (Zoom, conference calls, etc)
    • Able to proficiently utilize and understand downtime management programs (WMS, MARs, EIT)
    • Able to proficiently utilize and understand production manpower scheduling programs (Indeavor)
  • Demonstrates ability to function successfully in a fast paced, changing work environment


Compensation & Benefits
  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $60,000 - $100,500 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent experience in consumer packaged goods or a related industry
  • A minimum of 2 years of Operations or Logistics experience
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends
  • Demonstrated planning and organization skills
  • Demonstrated frontline supervisory skills
