Description:

The Marine Operations Superintendent (MOS) supports project execution under the direction of Project Managers, with responsibilities spanning both the planning and operational phases of marine projects. During planning, the MOS contributes practical insight into operational methodologies and procedures, assists in developing planning documents, and participates in risk assessments and planning meetings. In the field, the MOS is assigned oversight of specific operations such as ballasting, winch operations, and equipment logistics, potentially supervising several personnel. Additional duties include managing equipment and gear inventory, coordinating logistics with third-party vendors, and representing the company in offsite workshops and client meetings.

This is a full-time position that will continue through the duration of the project contract with an anticipated conclusion on or before December 31, 2027.

Essential Functions:

Administrative & Operations Logistics:
  • Participate in project planning, risk assessments, and workshops.
  • Develop assigned project planning documents and procedures.
  • Provide daily progress reports to the assigned Project Manager during mobilization, operations, and demobilization phases.
  • Track costs associated with assigned duties throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain project-specific equipment and rigging inventory.


Operations:
  • Ensure safe operations and effective management of assigned personnel during field activities.
  • Enforce adherence to company and project-specific safety policies and procedures.
  • Manage project equipment mobilization and demobilization.
  • Coordinate equipment shipping and receiving logistics to and from the project site.
  • Operate equipment as needed, including forklifts, cranes, pumps, and winching gear.
  • Perform other operational duties as assigned.


Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience operating heavy machinery and deck equipment; forklift and GI crane certifications preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with clients and internal teams.
  • Basic understanding of procurement processes and warehousing duties.
  • Effective organizational, prioritization, and planning skills.
  • Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions in dynamic and high-pressure environments.
  • General knowledge of the maritime transportation and shipyard industries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with general office procedures.


Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree is preferred, though a combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. Prior experience in marine operations or a related field is highly desirable, with preference given to candidates who have graduated from a maritime academy. Candidates must hold a valid TWIC card, driver's license, and passport, and be able to travel internationally without restriction.
