SUMMARY Full-Time Position: The Marine Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates activities of a designated project to ensure that project goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and budget constraints. This role may involve direct involvement or delegation to coordinators or supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountability and Communication
- Establishes and maintains daily contact with customer representatives to provide status updates, resolve issues, and negotiate changes to contract requirements (schedule, technical, or financial).
- Communicates contract requirements, specifications, and customer expectations to all departments to ensure integration into the shipyard business plan for the project.
Project Planning and Execution
- Develops a comprehensive project plan, including detailed schedules and budgets for each department and phase of the project.
- Distributes the budget to individual departments and conducts project team meetings as necessary to evaluate project status and initiate action plans.
- Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and adjusts schedules or plans as needed.
- Prepares project reports and Gantt Charts for management, clients, or relevant parties.
- Prepares project reports for division and corporate management, emphasizing any deviations from the plan that may require management attention.
- Maintains contract documentation, including all correspondence, reports, change orders, etc., and disseminates necessary information.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensures contract execution complies with all state and federal safety and environmental guidelines.
- Coordinates and approves all changes to project requirements or plans, obtaining customer approval when required.
- Travel and off-site work may be necessary, and availability during non-working hours via a mobile device is required.

COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Project.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in a marine-related discipline from a four-year college or university.
- A minimum of five years of shipyard project management experience and/or Navy-related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with industrial project budgeting and contract negotiations.
- Familiarity with current state and federal safety and environmental regulations and procedures.
- Strong supervisory skills, computer literacy, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
MANAGEMENT/COMMUNICATION/LANGUAGE SKILLS Management
- Can work with minimal direction, independently determining methods and procedures for new assignments and may provide guidance to others.
- Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and policies to determine appropriate actions, methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for achieving results.

- Effectively communicates and responds to questions from managers, employees, clients, customers (internal and external), and the general public.
- Proficient in delivering effective speeches and presentations.

- Able to read, analyze, and interpret various technical documents, reports, and regulations.
- Capable of writing routine reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Proficient in mathematical concepts such as budgeting, statistics, and data analysis.
- Able to apply budgeting and accounting skills to execute contracts effectively.
REASONING ABILITY
- Possesses strong problem-solving skills, data analysis, and critical thinking abilities.
- Can interpret various technical instructions in schematic, blueprint, mathematical, or diagram form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- The role may involve touring vessels, piers, docks, and work sites.
- Physical requirements include standing, walking, using hands to handle objects, reaching, talking, hearing, and occasional lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The work environment may include exposure to wet/humid conditions, extreme weather, cold and heat, as well as moving mechanical parts and high places.
- Noise levels can vary, with the shipyard environment typically being loud and the office environment usually low to moderate.
