General Position Summary
KCLS is hiring a new Marketing Manager to oversee the marketing wing of the Communications and Marketing department, including our e-mail, social media, digital video and photography, and web content. The position will also oversee our ongoing and future advertising campaigns and be the brand manager for KCLS. The position will develop campaigns in partnership with the Communications Manager and Graphics department, utilizing all our resources to achieve organizational goals and enhancing awareness of KCLS with new and existing patrons across King County.

- Collaborates with creative teams to produce promotional content and execute digital components of KCLS storytelling opportunities and campaigns. Participates in any phase of the development process, including composing draft content, revising the contributions of others, and delivering final proofing.
- Plans and manages advertising campaigns across digital, print, and social media platforms, serving as a liaison between KCLS and advertising agency.
- Oversees ad content generation and placement in collaboration with advertising firm.
- Produces and oversees digital media content calendar, including social media, email content, and web content.
- Conducts in-depth research on consumer behavior and market trends to enhance KCLS support and use in service area.
- Focuses on brand positioning in the market and alignment with promotional goals. Provides brand management guidance to the department in the development of communications materials.
- Develops promotional materials to be distributed by KCLS staff.
- Creates and maintains marketing procedures, best practices, templates, workflows, and checklists.
- Coordinates marketing communication that supports high profile events for KCLS.
- Reaches diverse audiences and communities with external communication that support the library as a welcoming and inclusive place.

- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or related field.
- Five years of experience in marketing roles, preferably with experience in digital marketing, content development, advertising, and/or photo and video direction.
- Three years of experience leading or managing a team or campaign.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary qualifications to successfully perform the duties of the position will be considered.
Knowledge and Skills
