Joining our Program Finance team means you are the backbone behind managing all the financial aspects for multiple contracts and programs that help keep nations safe. This position will ideally be conducted in a Hybrid work format, with the selected individual splitting their time between the Endicott, NY site and remote. This role will also be aligned with our 9/80 schedule, in which we have every other Friday off (44 hours on the 'long' week of 2 week pay period, and 36 hours on the 'short' week, with Friday off on the short week). The hybrid split in this case, is 3 days in-office, 2 days remote during the 'long' weeks, and 2 days in-office, 2 days remote during the 'short' weeks. For the ideal profile with directly applicable experience, the team may consider a full-time remote format, with the expectation of regular travel to the Endicott site on a monthly (or similar) schedule.

BAE Systems is seeking a Principal Master Planner with Microsoft Project skills to join the Program Finance team. You will provide project scheduling but also financial decision support to stakeholders focused on minimizing risk and maximizing return of program profit by managing financial requirements and program execution. In this job, you will:
  • Develop and coordinate the integrated master plan and integrated master schedule to meet all program objectives
  • Ensure major projects and program schedules are horizontally and vertically integrated across company functional groups including but not limited to finance, engineering, material, manufacturing, and quality
  • Monitor program schedule performance, track plans and schedules
  • Perform risk analysis using tools Barbecanna Full Monte and ForProject DCMA Schedule Analyzer
  • Identify and resolve critical paths, driving paths and network logic conflicts
  • Utilize Gantt, milestone charts, earned value management and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas
  • Ability to train and provide guidance to engineering control account managers and new master planners
  • Supporting weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting requirements both internally and externally
  • Understanding of Monthly cost & schedule performance and IPMR/IPMDAR reporting
  • Understanding of EVMS and DCMA requirements
  • Creating and influencing program baselines with industry standard guidelines

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of work experience or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project and all Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prioritize and self-manage a multi-tasked workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to make decisions with sound judgment while complying with policies and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience communicating and presenting financial data to other functions/leadership teams in an accurate, concise and understandable manner
  • Ability to conduct training classes for Control Account Managers


Preferred Skills and Education

  • Ability to challenge and improve knowledge of industry practices and standards as well as company policies
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional and effective relationships with internal and external customers
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management
  • Experience with Oracle a plus
  • Experience with Power BI a plus
