Position: Materials Manager
Toray Performance Materials Corporation (TPMC) is currently seeking a Materials Manager to join our team. The position will be based in Camarillo, CA.
Company Overview: Toray Performance Materials Corporation (TPMC), a part of the Toray Advanced Composites (TAC) Group, is a leader in development and manufacturing of thermoplastic composites technology and products. TPMC primarily services customers in the consumer recreation, medical, and electronics industries as well as other industrial segments. Growth in these markets and future expanded markets is desired.
Position Overview:
The primary purpose of the Materials Manager is to oversee purchasing, planning, inventory, and logistics (Shipping & Receiving) operations.

Experience and/or Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, data science, or other related disciplines.
Minimum 2 years of experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain operations within the composite, aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing industries.
Expert in ERP systems, specifically purchasing and planning and inventory management software. Experience with MS Navision/Dynamics 365 a plus.
Expert in data inquiry and analysis, preferred with Excel and Power BI.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
Strong knowledge of purchasing, planning, inventory management, and logistics. Experience with international imports and exports a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
APICS (CPIM), Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing certification is preferred.
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 a plus.
Fluency in English; Mandarin is a plus.
Compensation:
A competitive compensation package including base salary, potential for bonus based on performance, group health, dental and vision insurance, and 401k will be available to the qualified applicant.

Major Duties and Requirements:
Purchasing:
- Develop and implement global purchasing strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure the best terms and conditions.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships with key international suppliers.
Planning:
- Coordinate with global production and sales teams to forecast material requirements and ensure alignment with production schedules.
- Develop and maintain inventory planning models to optimize stock levels and minimize excess inventory.
- Implement and manage material planning systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory control processes to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of materials.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Implement best practices for inventory management to reduce waste and improve turnover rates.
Logistics (Shipping & Receiving):
- Manage all aspects of shipping and receiving operations, including coordination with carriers and freight forwarders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards for shipping and receiving.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve delivery times and reduce costs.
Other requirement:

- Ability to spend up to 25%-time travel globally.
