Description:
Manages and directs daily activities, ensuring an uninterrupted flow of supplies and equipment to internal customers.
Responsibilities:
May train staff on the automated inventory system based on departmental needs
Budget
Ensures department is in compliance with the budget.
Tasks:
Works with Director to develop annual budget.
Provides monthly reports to Director on significant budget variances.
Monitors departmental Productivity Report for variances from budget.
Customer Service
Meets or exceeds customer service expectations.
Tasks:
May ensure routine supplies are delivered to and available for the customer at least 96% of the time based on departmental needs
Ensures all special requests for products and equipment are delivered to the requestor within 15 minutes of receipt of request.
Ensures that all telephones calls into the department are answered within three rings.
Performs monthly rounds on high volume customers, inquiring on the performance of the department and taking corrective action to resolve any customer service issues.
Inventory Control
Monitors inventory activity to ensure availability of product , while balancing with fiscal responsibility.
Tasks:
Ensures cycle counts of the inventory are conducted and significant discrepancies are documented and explained.
Coordinates semi-annual physical counts of the entire inventory, reporting results to the Financial Department.
Reviews and updates par levels of product held in inventory, ensuring proper turns of inventory while minimizing stock outages.
Reviews annually with customers, par levels of products held in their locations, making recommendations for appropriate changes.
Performs quarterly review of inventory for slow moving or obsolete products.
Performs general management functions required of the position. Participates in Lifebridge committees, such as Safety Committee, depending on entity needs. Represents the Materials Management department at committees as required.
